The 9200 did everything well apart from the job of being a media player. There are so many codecs that it never supported them all and where some .avi files would play ok others have the issues you're encountering.

Hi i have had this pvr for a few years and on the whole no issues, except one.
audio that lags. avi in particular
My workaround has been to run all avi files through handbrake on my pc
Honestly im sick of having to do this.
Does anyone know of a fix for this issue?
I’m on FAC.UltraPlus.X-9200HD.v2.11.97.2014Jun13.ird
I’ve looked on ultrapower website but as usual no latest firmware or info.
any help appreciated
cheers

Thanks Leroy,
yes i noticed on some avi's it also locked up.
So looks like that will never be fixed then.
Not a real biggie as i watch nearly everything via minix box, with no issues, including what ive recorded . (Occasionally i have to run something thru handbrake when i watch via ultraplus)
In the interim i got the 2.12.18 firmware today. Spoke to jack at ultraplus and he said it was crucial that 2.11.70 be installed prior to the 18.
Drivers may have been missing he said.
anyway did what he said and all seems ok.
haven’t tried an avi as yet.
I did have an issue previously with missing channels , which are now all present + correct
so onwards.
thanks for the reply again

Iv got the same problem but mp4 n mkv files mostly work fine I've found with the odd exception

I've never never been able to get it to play any more than 2 channel audio either, even when I know for sure (i.e I can cast it) that the file I'm using has 5.1 surround sound.
So Leroy - will the xcruiser 600 do all the things we're moaning about the ultraplus not having? Isn't it the same box more or less?
I too had this problem, with xvid and divx files, but have now found a solution which works perfectly for me.
-- Play the file.
Press the large white triangular button on the remote. Then press the small triangular button to the left of the "OK" button. Press the large button again. For me, audio and video are now in sync.

I thought the divx audio issue were resolved in later firmware
The Xcruiser X600 is identical with UltraPlus X9200 , both receivers will play perfectly most of the files showing their spec without any issue if the latest SW is installed .
You can use X600 or Octagon S-2028 SW with the X9200 just need to convert the ID's with some tools . Since the latest SW no one has complained bout not playing VDO files. Please update and enjoy your files.
