    Default I've finally done it!

How long have I been talking about it? lol It's just like driving a bomb and waiting for something big to go wrong now plus it's just getting unsafe with the headlights going opaque and windscreen sandblasted (original screen!) So I bought a Mazda 3 for the boss. She doesn't know herself!!
It's going to be a bit sad to see it go but it's been a great 435,000km!

I bought a mazda 3 a couple months back for my wife, 2010 model with 120k's full service history, scored it for $4500 due to only needing tires and the old fella handed his license in, bloody fantastic car the wife loves it

The Kia Cerato with 7yr warranty or the Hyundai with 5yr were tempting but I still think you can't go past a Japanese small car.

That's why I said there are obviously things that need to be done with a car of this mileage. If I listed everything that was wrong lol.....
But you look in Ebay and a P/S pump is $100. If you need an alternator because it's the original and I can't believe it's lasted you could get a cheap secondhand or a new for $149. Window switches are cheap as well.

I should put in engine has always had 10k oil changes and I only recently moved from 10w40 to 15w40 and uses maybe up to a litre between changes now. No rattles, no smoke. But hey it is an old bomb now lol

My son drives a vs commodore, as you say everything is fixable and cheap as chips. Great learning curve on basic mechanics for him, and me. So easy for the kids to google any problem and solve it themselves with the old bombs.

In NSW a car that age and details will cost YOU $100 for a wrecker to take it away or if you drive to them, they will pay you the $100.
As its Victorian, that devalues it even more as even a 'Back Yarder' Blue Slip mechanic wont issue an inspection certificate for it.

    I thinks its dirt cheap!

Great option for someone with a desperate budget or someone looking for a paddock bomb
    Surprised it not sold

I've got $100 for old wrecks over this side with no wheels. Quite a market here for junk cars as scrap.
My sons Commodore was from the Eastern States, the bloke we bought it off had just changed the plates over to WA. That was major plus for us knowing that the vehicle had been regularly inspected as its not the practice here.

Absolutely agree, that's where I graduated from fixing lawn mowers to cars & in my younger years it was a Kingswood.

Mazda makes great cars. I've got an "Anniversary Edition" 626 which is still going strong. Only regular servicing with never a major problem.
