Hopefully you said cd by mistake and burned it to dvd.

Which version of the setup disc did you use? Did you want to update the chip or just allow different region games?

Hmm, it should work, I think at one stage one of the nintendo updates got in the way of the setup wiikey discs working. I ended up getting a modified version of the previous setup disc with the latest update on it. No idea if I still have that at home somewhere.

Try not filechopping the iso and burning it with the free program Imgburn.

Or you could wait until one of the professional modchip guys answers your original question.

As suggested above, try imgburn at slowest speed (without file chopping). Perhaps try different media, verbatim seem to work best for me.

What's actually happening? Does the wii detect the disc as a gamecube game in the lobby (tv screens)? What's the actual error message displayed on screen?

    Do your burnt games work?
Is it a genuine wiikey? Even if it wasn't, it should still load the disc.
What media and with what speed are you burning?
Perhaps try making a gcos bootcd, just to see if it boots.

I had a similar experience, none of the official wiikey bootdiscs would work, but the games and wiikey update discs did! Strangely enough, the discs started working again....guess a firmware update fixed it.

This was the only boot disc that would work for me while i was having problems. Perhaps try using this, if only to see if it boots.

If that does work, try setting your wii dvd drive to read at 3x, not 6x. Note, each time you load the config disc the options are at their default and not what the chip is set to (this is for safety purposes - to prevent the chip from being detected).

    Cheers, RHCP.

maybe there's nothing wrong with your update disc.
you may need the gcos disc + the gamecube controller.
