    Default Firmware library

Recently there has been interest in a firmware library.

Many of us think this is a good idea.

At least one of the big manufacturers does not charge for firmware files. Since these files are free to anyone with an account and the account its self is free there is no issue sharing them.

Shortly there will be a new post on how you can contribute to a library for everyone here.

Disclaimer: Austech is not responsible for the contents of this library. All files are copies of information openly posted in various forums/sites around the internet. All the files posted are free from the supplier.

Like all good things it took a while for the group of us to have the time to do this, but its ready.

Before I start posting a few links there are a couple of things for everyone to keep in mind. First there will be no software in the library. Second it is up to the membership to keep uploading files for the library. Mega accounts would be the best as the files can be imported directly without having to download and re upload.

The library is currently configured like this. There is a main folder Moto, Kenwood, Icom etc from the main folder there are the various models APX, Astro TRBO etc. Inside the model folder are the various versions of CPS V13.0,v12.1 v12.0. In each cps folder is a region NA, AS, EMEA LA and in that folder are the firmware files. As time goes on empty folders will be filled.

The reason that things are configured like this is so that the membership can get the firmware to match the CPS and codeplug being used. The current folders created by coincidence match the known CPS versions in the wild. We are open to any suggestion to make it easier to use.

    Links
    Motorola/TRBO/v13.0 NA
    Motorola/APX/v14.01.00

As new firmware is uploaded Someone will post the link.

NOTE: this is your library it is up to YOU to contribute and build it up.

Would someone be kind enough to list which CPS and firmware versions match for APX and Astro25? The files will populate a lot quicker if this is known. Thank you.

If someone wants to upload the EMEA firmware from post 2 to mega it will be transfered to the library.

I would be interested in hosting a firmware library on my FTP server.

We talked about that and decided mega is the best place to host the library. A dedicated server was offered but it's easier to manage and takes liability off the owner (read about the legal problems CS has over there). I suggested linking the whole library but I left the linking up to lynt123. They are a busy person so give them some time.

    Hi,

Nice to see you start discover 'Ham spirit' in France too (or at least sharing...)
I hope it's a real awakening, not just by pure interest...

The APX folder is filing in very well. The reason we have chosen not to post a single link for the firmware is to make it a bit harder for individuals to just copy the whole library. Anyone needing a specific version can get what they need by selecting the desired link.

Still needed for APX is firmware for v1-6 CPS and V8.00.01, 8.01.01, 8.02.00 and 9.00.01, 9.00.02 and 9.01.00

    Current links for APX

    motorola/apx/v7.00.00
    motorola/apx/v10.00.00
    motorola/apx/v10.01.01
    motorola/apx/v11.00.00
    motorola/apx/v11.01.01
    motorola/apx/v12.00.00
    motorola/apx/v13.00.01
    motorola/apx/v13.01.00
    motorola/apx/v14.00.00
    motorola/apx/v14.01.00

Thank you to all who have contributed to sharing these files.

We need to have members contribute for TRBO especially regions other than NA

I'm uploading a handful of older APX firmware now but it's slow going, I'll PM you with the link once it's done (they'll be on Mega so you can import).

Are you sure some of those intermediate revisions actually exist? Going by the part numbers they weren't released:

    APX_Mobile_R08.00.00_DVN4298A.cvn
    APX_Mobile_R08.05.00_DVN4298B.cvn
    APX_Mobile_R08.05.05_DVN4298C.cvn
    APX_Mobile_R08.07.00_DVN4298D.cvn
    APX_Mobile_R09.00.00_DVN4298E.cvn

    Andrew

EDIT: I think you're confusing CPS revisions with Firmware revisions, there was CPS R08.01.01 / R08.02.00 / etc. but the f/w versions are different.

radiobup: thanks for the missing files.

Bigfella237: I have listed the CPS releases that I know to exist. It is possible that some releases may not have had firmware due to motos history of having issues with the cps. If there is no firmware to match the cps I will place a read me in the library folrder for that CPS.
