Hi all
I hope this is an easy question to answer, whats the best way to connect an adsl modem to the PC
via the usb cable or via a ethernet cable, are there any pro's & con's ect

Ethernet.
Plug in and away you go, also easy to share then.
ethernet got my vote .. USB has too many issues at times ..

Ethernet, put your password and User ID into the router/modem. Then just connect to the PC's ethernet port, the DHCP server in the router/modem will give joining PC's an IP address and then your connected.

If your looking at adsl devices, get a router over a straight modem - pretty much the same cost and you get more benefits....multiple devices on the net at one time (without windows internet sharing thing), always on, some level of anonymity of internal computers via NAT etc.
If the ISP your with doesn't offer free routers with the plan and wants a ridiculous fee for one, just buy one elsewhere. The billion 7300 Adsl/+2 4 port router is only 75$ and when you subtract this from what they give you back for bringing your own hardware its only 20$
