For optus you need to call about 30 times and talk to every department because they got no idea what is going on and how to do it,
but they can get you a fetch box ok,

    Perseverance is the key

i was out today and stopped into the local store and asked about the epl
    on sat and their reply.

no such thing you can only watch it on your phone or with the fetch tv setup.
then they even went as far as to suggest i was stupid and had no clue and to stop
wasting their time because i wasnt an account holder and i could not get it.

i walked out shaking my head laughing at them when i told them to read
    their own website.

They are making themselves look like amateurs and a quick way to make sure some one who was considering switching to never do so.

i had no intention to switch just wanted to know is all.

Sounds like Optus havent changed much in regards to informing their staff of changes.
I tried the website and put in my address and got the 'reply' to use the TV along with Broadband which is a bit difficult as ADSL doesnt exist here and OPTUS isnt the best here for the Mobile service either.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

yeah so far got to say not the best customer experience I have had,
they certainly have lots room for improvement.
At one stage given a phone number to call,
went around the merry go round and 45 minutes later by the 4th person transferred to, instructed to call the first number I called.....

    While this is not VAST

    It might help some people

Although, you can watch the EPL on any internet connection if you want.
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

I have a Altec DSD 4639 and the specs of the hard drive in it say that it can only record 5 simultaneous streams. Maybe the newer HDDs can record more streams?

Is there any more feedback on this Optus Satellie Sport service ?

I am curious to see how Optus have got back into pay tv over Satellite, sure it is only one channel. It sure stinks when monopolies exist, monoliths like Foxtel and Telstra will always continue to take us little guys for a ride.

a mate has it and it works well and not just one channel its 10 for epl plus cricket ,
in the begining it was flakey now works a treat and great hd pictures .

Only thing that sucks is that you must have an optus phone plan to be eligible.

Hi all, Just for interest I managed to play with the NEW (future Optus decoder) last week. 16 sat tuners, 2 terrestrial, 2x LAN gigabit, WIFI (both bands) & a host of other features. It is made by UEC for Optus. it was being used to display Optus Sport 4k platform.
From the design engineer "this is the future" of satellite media for Australia (although no deals with "Fox or Netflix yet"). Oh almost forgot 2TB HDD for "perceptive downloads" and 2TB for user stuff. Definately an "all sing & all dancing" device if they can achieve provider support.
