    Default $2000 fine..........for being honest !

Kent Wilson fined 2K ......because he was honest, for shooting a 'kin cat, don't get me wrong, I love animals and abhor any kind of cruelty (including racing animals, horses and dogs) but shooting a cat in your own back yard due to concerns about native animal welfare and the news 'story' is all about animal cruelty and punishing the shooter......................what about the 'kin cat owners responsibility to keep the cat confined to her own property

He should have shot the stupid bitch cat owner !!!

I take it you don't like Cats???

Funny, my mate just had 2 Female Cops move next door.... (Yes there is a story in that by itself)
Anyway, their dog walked onto his property.
We are talking 10 acres properties with live stock, horses, etc....

Anyway, my mate took his Stock Whip and cracked the dog right on the ass, one of his best cracks ever!
The dog took off, never to be seen again.....
Sounds a bit hard... But, in this area, if a Dog attacks an animal, horse, life stock of a neighbours, its the un written local law, that the dog owner has to put his dog down, no questions asked (or someone will do it for you)

So really, my friend was doing this Dog a favour.

Anyway, that afternoon the female cop came over..., my friend explained how her dog was there....
She interjected and said, i heard the shots.

My friend had to correct her and say, they weren't shots, it was my stock whip.

What a way to meet the new neighbours

My neighbour traps them if they are on his property and then takes them to the pound - if the owners want them back they have to pay about $200 after which they then tend to keep their cats on their own property - all legal

I used to keep cats out of their favourite spots in my yard by "marking my territory".

Each State has different Laws relating to the use of Firearms and where did this happen, in a suburban area or on a rural property ?

No one in their right mind would discharge any sort of firearm on a 1/4 Block in a suburban area because of the dangers involved no matter how good a shoot you are or what your shooting at.
The Local 'Cockies' told me the 'rule' was if you shot a feral dog or fox on the property, the carcass had to remain where it was (no idea why) but many now dont like taking the risk of shooting and prefer to trap or bait most 'Ferals'.
Around here the rural roads that once saw a non local vehicle once a month or longer now see one or more a day using them.

This idiot discharged a rifle on a 5 acre block. As far as I'm concerned he deserves to pay $2000 for being stupid.

I used to be on 4 acres zoned rural and no way in hell would I ever discharge a firearm there. Yes, I have Category A,B and H gun licences

I have never found out the truth of this but I was told it was 'illegal' to discharge a Firearm 'within a mile of a Railway Line' as well as near a 'populated area' like a Village etc.
