    Default Konica Printer Setup

I have a Konica Minolta 2300DL laser printer I want to set up on my home network.

I am using a DLink DI-524 router. I have the printer connected to port 3 on the router.

I have given the printer a static DHCP address of 192.168.0.90.

I can ping this address with no loss, but can't seem to assign the printer to it. When I run th e printer setup it will only find the existing printers. It seems like it needs to have a name for the network to recognise it.

Any ideas where to go from here?

If I install the printer as a USB or parrallel printer can I then change it to a network printer?

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Try this...
When you go to setup the printer on your pc.
In the new printer wizard choose Local printer, and untick auto detect.
then down the bottom go create new port and choose TCP/IP, press next and enter the printers IP.

    I have tried that.

I have tried a few diferent IP Addresses (changing on the printer each time). It ghoes through the setup and starts loading drivers etc then it says something along the lines of cant complete driver installation and stops.

    Thanks

I think I will have to. I downloaded drivers from their website, but they don't seem to work even though they say they are the correct ones. I will contact them and see if maybe I need an earlier driver.

I have even tried connecting it via USB and XP doesn't even recognise it

    Thanks

    Hi,

have you assigned the correct subnet mask and gateway

make sure DHCP is turned off

    manually enter TCP/IP...IP 192.168.0.90

manually enter Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0(could be different, check router details)

    manually enter Gateway 192.168.0.1

    making sure to save settings

    then reboot printer

Thanks guys, I have checked everything and it seems OK.

I think the problem may be the driver version. My firmware is only 2.28 and the driver is supposed to be used above about V5.

I just have to try and find an earlier driver, but the email on their website keeps bouncing.

    Thanks
    Andrew

I have just downloaded what looks like the same driver that I allready had, but from Driver Guide and it worked

Looks like it may have been a corrupt driver that I originally downloaded.

    Thanks
    Andrew
