    Default MySat boxes

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the MySat boxes are married to their cards or can you use a third party box with their card ?

    Cheers

Today if a STB and Card are supplied by a Provider, its almost a certainty they are 'Mated' like Foxtel and VAST.
If however the STB or the card can be obtained separately like we could do with the now defunct Aurora service, they wont be 'Mated' BUT there is the possibility that they could be if you have to supply the serial number of both the SMART Card and the STB to get the service activated.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

As far as I'm aware, MySat card and box are paired, so no, you can't use a third party box with a MySat card unfortunately.

Mysat boxes and cards are not paired and the smartcards can be used successfully in any satellite receiver capable of decrypting Irdeto CAS (conditional access system).

However, you need to be aware that Mysat (World Media International) will change over to DVB-S2 Mpeg 4 in several months time and are currently in the process of replacing customers' older DVB-S receivers.
