    Whenever Vu Products bring out a replacement for the Great Duo2 in 4K i will buy it but I'm not in a hurry yet as nobody yet has made a decent latest specs 4K large display that is priced correctly. When I mean large I mean over 85 inch.

    There is another 4k receiver that might be of interest:

    Available on eBay for around a third the price of the VU+ unit.

    Any feed back on this receiver, or the Ferguson products in general would be appreciated.

    Regards the NASA channel....have just tuned in AS4...only get three freqs, none of which is 4120H.

    Am I right in assuming that this means that my SRT4922 cannot see the 4120 freq because of the 4k/UHD nature of the beast, much the same as a DVB-S unit can't see a DVB-S2 signal?

    Very interested in accessing the NASA channel if at all possible.

    Would be very interested in any feedback you can provide once you get things sorted and hopefully access the NASA channel.

    For me for my main Reciever its Vu and nothing else. The Vu Duo2 has to be the best box on this planet and I don't need to say why as I think you know what i'm talking about.

    I use to watch that channel a lot back in the Intelsat 180 Deg days but eventually it disappeared to my annoyance.

    let me see...Ferguson Ariva has:

    * CA slot, not a CI slot/s
    * single tuner
    * 100Mb port

    It may well be cheaper, but I'll stick with my VU+Duo2 thanks

    Only disappointment with the VU+, well not the box, but the remote...I'm on my third one now and it's starting to play up, seems like the innards below the ring aren't up to the job. However, the remote from the VU+Solo2 still works a treat.

    I’ve no doubt that the Vu+ is a superior, or at least more versatile, machine to the Ariva…..I assume that’s what is reflected in the price differential.

    But….I just want to watch the NASA channel, and possibly other UHD stuff as and when it becomes available.
    I can spend $618 and buy a Vu+ Solo to do this, or spend $236 and buy an Ariva UHD and do exactly the same thing, it would seem.

    So, if I decide to have a crack at UHD reception, I guess the choice for me is pretty clear….if a Holden Commodore will do the job, why buy a Ferrari?

    I'm sure there will be a number of people interested to hear about your experiences with both boxes, myself included.

    Glad to see you cracked it, and that the Vu+ is working out for you.

    It's hard to see how very many people are going to get excited about this new UHD platform if that sort of equipment is going to be needed for reception.

    Guess it's aimed more at the broadcast market.

    hi
    thanks
    what i am waiting for is any sign of nasa tv on this platform, there is a lot of boring stuff like ftv etc.will try and email asiasat and ask what there intentions are
    also when this ferguson ariva arrives be interesting to see how it compares ,it certainly is a lot cheaper
