    Default Mediastar HDX9100 - Loading R17

I have been playing with this box and have found that it will only boot using the HDMI cable. If I try either composite or component I get the "Loading R17" message and the box just sits there. (There is a reason for trying to use composite!)

I have done a "Factory Defaults" a number of times but the situation remains the same.

    Any ideas?

Interesting I use a scart (from the back of the HDX9100) to composite cables on one machine ..... (working well for me)

And I am using composite cables from the composite connectors on another HDX9100 .... (working well for me)

(have not tried composite or HDMI yet from memory)

I guess this machine is getting a bit old now too .... been a good machine

Edit: Have you tried playing with the Video settings .... TV System (PAL) .... TV Resolution ( Auto, 576p, 720p, 1080i)..... Video signal type (YPbPr, RGB, S-Video) .... HDMI Signal type (YPbPr, RGB,) etc ....

I like the suggestion above to check your video settings.

The settings are exactly the same as for the daily use box which is composite to an old CRT. Don't want to put the mokkers on it but it has worked as expected from day one.

    I should also add:

    (a) that the box in question shows the same message with nothing connected to it.
    (b) both boxes are running the same firmware Nov 10 2009.
