    Default Import Duty from USA....

I just went to buy some head studs from the states for $1048us + $20 shipping.
Then ebay wanted to slug me $270ish via Pitney bowes for import Duty.
That's over 20% . Last time it was around 10%.
    So much for our fta.......

Duty rate is only 5% , to claim the FTA the seller/manufacturer has to provide a declaration.

FTA doesnt mean Duty FREE, all it means is that an item now cannot be refused entry because it is available here and is competing against it.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Some goods are on a sliding scale but correct in not all items are duty free, the base rate is 5% and most engine related items are duty free under the AUSFTA.

There are no import duty fees or taxes for items with a worth of under $1000. Usually, if you contact the seller, they will remove this from the checkout.

please see below for more info.
