Default Copying eeprom of a Gold Card?

    Hey everyone,

I have a query regarding copying the eeprom of a gold card. It's not used for subscription of Satellite Television, but it's a ISO7816 compatible card made by GemPlus (with PIC and eeprom I believe).

The card reader/writer I have is a Jaycar Smartcard programmer (KC5361). I have tried to access the eeprom with IC-prog however since I don't know which eeprom device to select I could not read it and I'm not sure if it is copy protected.

I had a look at a similar question asked by anywherescool10

3: get a coppy of ggedit
4: put the working gold card in
    5: select read
    6: select save
7: dont close it and now put in the one you just made
    8: select read
9: select load and load the file you just saved
    10: select write
Can I use a similar approach in this situation with the Jaycar programmer?

    Any help appreciated.

    Default

    From memory
    GOLDCARD : PIC16F84 + 24C16.

You can dump both with IC Prog as long as the CP (Copy Protect Bit is not set). There were ways around the CP for the goldcards, but I cant remember.
GGEdit will copy the details from one to the other as long as the original was a Ghost Gold card.

When using ICProg, the reader needs to be in JDM/PIC mode and not Phoenix

Ensure you set the Oscillator to XT (external as the reader is has the clock not the card)

    Thanks for that crypto.

The card I'm looking into may not be a gold card as I have no way to verify what sort of PIC and eeprom it uses. I have looked at the data sheet but it doesn't specify the type of PIC and eeprom.

You mean in Smartmouse mode not in Phoenix?

I use a JDM, so if you have a smart mouse, use that mode I guess.
