I saw only the latter part of the 17th (final) frame of this match.
I understood that the coloured balls were always re-spotted while red balls remained on the table.
Although there were still red balls on the table there was no black ball.
Explanation please.

If he had been foul snooker ed he could have nominated the black as a red, which would not be re Spotted until he potted a colour or missed the shot.

I didn't think anything of it at the time but after a red ball was potted the black ball also rolled into a pocket. I assume in this circumstance it becomes a dead ball for the remainder of the frame.
