    Default No Video only sound in XP

    Hi all have a small problem with my XP windows media player, i can't get video to show it plays the audio but not the Video, it seem to be a problem with the codec. Anyone here got any idea's on the problem ??

    I have given up on WMP i just use VLC but you are probably right with the codec.
    When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all

    klite codec pack should have all the codecs you need. But like B4L said VLC media player is the go it will play just about anything you throw at it.

    install Cole2k.Media.-.Codec.Pack by far the best i have used, if you do use it untick the toolbar option like the google thing and shit

    ok guys it did the same in VLC player as well, tried the ones from divx.com i got pics but no sound lol. I am going to try the Cole2k.Media now and see what goes on

    Its a bit dated but I find GSpot useful in identifying the codec a video file uses.

    I didn't know that the G spot had something to do with codecs.

    Gordian Knot codec pack from Doom9 should fix most video playback problems.
