Always helpful and knowledgeable. I bought stuff from him with never an issue, and argued with him too on the board. A valued member, and a great guy. I'll miss him.

    RIP.

Shocked and very sad to hear this and at such young age.

RIP Fernbay and my sympathy for his family.

Not personally known but I have enjoyed his discussions, professional knowledge and good sense of humour over the many years on Austech.

    He was the best guy
Helped me out all the time with the dream boxes
and with the TV side of things,

it is a sad loss for all that knew him and even more for those who didn't get a chance to know him

    My condolences to his family

Astute observation Oceanboy. It seems counter-intuitive that those who diagnose and repair, fail to apply such practices to their own bodies.

It is sad that certain people will mourn the death of some celebrity that they do not know, and place floral tributes for reasons best known to them.
When genuinely community minded and selfless people die suddenly, the ripple is felt in the community they helped greatly.
The Austech community is lessened by this loss.
Kudos to MTV for keeping the banner permanent.

I've attended two funerals this week, and whilst each was a celebration of the life of the dearly departed, it occurs to me that we do not often tell those that mean something to us just what an effect they have had on our lives until it's too late. I commented to my sister that it would be good if we knew the day and hour of a person's demise that we could have a "funeral" before their passing to hear what effect that they have had on people.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
