Dreamax DT470 and Optus D2

Hi all,

I see a lot of ppl havening problems with this unit and trying to get the Romanian, Hungarian etc channels going again.

I managed to get it working buy manually changing a few settings.

First... you don't have to move your dish or anything drastic like that nor do you need any software updates etc.

Lets go through the steps I did.

Push your menu button ... select installation ... select manual Scan.

Now in this screen we will edit some settings.

Push the green button ( TP Edit ) and select modify.

Now you can modify the settings ...

Leave the Optus B3 setting as it is as you can't change the name.

Scroll down to Frequency and push OK

Change the Frequency to 12706 ... by pushing the number keys.

Press OK

Scroll down to Symbol Rate and push OK

Change the Symbol Rate to 22500 ... by pushing the number keys.

Press OK

Now push the Menu button again and it should save the settings.

Make sure you are still in manual scan and push the red button ( TP Scan )

This will scan the channels ... keep an eye on it ... the 12706 frequency should be scanned now as well as a few others ... let the unit save the scan.

Now select channels then channel manager and step through the channels ... you should find in my case (for the wife) Romanian channel again as well as some of the others ... press OK on the channel you want and start watching.

I wrote this after I changed my details ... if there are any mistakes in it let me know and I will update it ... the only bit that may differ is pressing menu instead of OK between edits ... I can't quite remember what I did.

My flatmate got a dreamax dt470

He used it at this house awhile ago and all was fine. he gave it back for abit and gave it to me yesterday.
I have tried to set it up in my room but alwalys comes up with "no signal"
we have foxtel and theres a box in my room which im using the reciever through
Could anyone please give us a few pointers im in perth,wa.

change the lnb settings of the dreamax to match those of the fox box

11300 to 10700 etc

your locked into the foxtel box polarity though - if the foxtel box is on vertical you'll only get vertical channels on the dreamax etc

Hey again, i set the optus B3to 10700
It then picked up about 15 channels, i got the card rebooted and depite all the channels picked up only nitv was found from any fta search so thats all i can view at the moment. The box is on the wall horizontally. As my flatmate used to use it i must have some settings wrong, he has no idea
Any ideas?
Have just tried optus Cl at 10700
just picked up 158 channels but most have a $ sing beside them and says service is currently scrambled .... ???
