I don't suppose there is anyway of getting terrestrial tv on this thing?
If anyone is wondering, this box is one of the easiest i have ever used to set up a four way disceq switch.
Took about an hour including scanning in four sats/dishes.
All on the remote control buttons.

couldnt agree more its not the 90s anymore i say get rid of it all together, especially when you got hdmi, component, composite and scart all on the one box
I have set mine up to drive a 85cm dish on little motor.
I get NSS6, AsiaSat4, Measat2, D2, C1, D1, Pass8, Pass2, I701.
Scanned all channels available, and added feed transponders.
It took me 2 nights to get it to my liking.
Thats why I was spewing when I upgraded firmware and lost the channel list.
Now thanks to your help I saved the channel list to USB Stick.
I hope it works when I need to do a restore.
As for RF modulator, its good for me becuase I have cabled to bedroom wall points so I can watch on little CRT TV in bed, (quality not an issue) and yes have remote control extender.
Next step to get a 320gig external esata hard drive.
Bah, the time..... I haven't worried about the time. Been too busy watching BBC HD. Wow! I can't believe how poor the normal BBC is as well as all the channels really and we put up with it. I know there are only a few channels in the line up at the moment. The HD channels appear to have a different program lineup to their SD cousins appart from Fox sports. I was flicking back and forth between HD and SD and there's quite a difference and I don't have a full HD panel (yeh I bought mine 12 mths ago now if I waited.....but then I'd never buy anything)
I have HDMI inputs on my TV but I haven't a cable and I'm only using the compost output but I'm still impressed. Wait until my HDMI cable comes!!
I've been copping flack from the SHMBO all week about the purchase of the Octagon as it was purchased without permission but boy it's worth it. It's a nice box, well built. I don't know where but the remote says Korea and it's a nice feeling remote also. As soon as I got the box I had to load newer firmware as simple features like editing tps etc wasn't available with the version I had. The epg doesn't excite me too much as I'd like to see more chanels on the screen.
I have a 250GB sata drive but haven't hooked it up yet. Maybe try to work something out over the weekend.
It's going to be interesting to see how the firware evolves for this beast!!
So there you go. I wasn't going to write much!!

In system setup go to the time menu. I have my Time Mode set to Auto, Offset to +10 and summer time off. Should be fine with these settings.

Hi,
do not expect too much improwement (that you can see) unles you watch a big screen from short distance. I'm in full HD for over a year and I hate wach SD.... no wander. I probably enjoy the most the HD audio from music Blue Rays. I don't expect the HD audio from fox thou, it takes too much bandwitch.
Still, both audio and video from HD channels is a huge improvement. Spoke today to fox rep and there is more HD channels to come next year, I've been told.
So yes it is getting better
Cheers
