Will be taking delivery of one (Premium HD) shortly. I'll compare it with my SF918.
I'm guessing the AZbox will have better functionality.

Seems to be a lot of unhappy AZbox owners out there because of the slow development of the firmware.

I got a message in German from the Octagon support site yesterday. It seems that the Octagon 1018 has been/is about to be released. It will be interesting to see what improvements have been made. If I translated correctly the message went on to say that the 918 would continue to be fully supported.

    1018 has dual tuners.

    Yep, got the same one.
It's linux based and uses enigma 2, like DM7025, DM800 etc.

    Default Octagon 918 Help please

I didn't get any replys or acknowledgements so I thought I'd try again please can anyone help.

I'm new to all this and have found the forum very informative many thanks for lots of great info. I've just set up a Octagon 918 on a motorised dish, first I found AlJazeera and it worked fine. I then did a software upgrade and while I can find AlJazeera I get the message that it is is scrambled I also updated the keys (not sure why but I'll find out). The other FTA channels on C1 are OK (but I have lost some duplicates and other FTA that was there before). I must have mess up the settings somewhere any ideas or clues please? I also have issues with the positioner irrespective of fine or course movement it just starts to move and keep going until I push the button again then stops. Is this an Octagon issue or have I got a bad positioner as there also seems to be minor issues with accurate repeatability. Would appreciate any clues. Thanks marc97au

AFAIK the Al-Jazeera channel doesn't come up with the correct PID's by default. You need to do a manual step after the scan is complete.

    Thanks Bambbbam,

I do realise that the PID's have to be put in manually and I used 1121,1122,1121 and inputed frequency etc. It finds the channel as it shows up on the FTA list (not called Aljazeera of course but User CH). I did the same before I upgraded software and it worked fine now it just says "Not running or scrambled" I have also lost some other C1 channels such as Expo and a couple of others that looked like ads with split screens. Thanks marc97au

Has anyone had success with 'HomeShare' of the SF918HD to any of the other Octagons models??

    Looking at getting a SF518

Tried 918 to 918, which works fine. Not sure if the current 518 firmware supports homeshare; maybe someone else can comment.

    Hi Mohan,

Check that it states postage to Australia included, if it does certainly a good price.

Yeah I agree with f360, good price.
Let us know if it does include postage to oz, but my gut feeling is postage would be within Germany.
