I believe there is an auto setting .. Cant check now though...z80?
i was reading on some European forums and they reckon Octagon stole the image and basicly most of it from the Golden Interstar reciever....have look hear....
look at the remote and back side its almost identical
The Octagon has an eSATA port,
the Golden Interstar does not take any hard drive whatsoever.
Seems like a pretty big difference to me...But the firmware is very similar.
The front is completely different as well....

yeh sure thing ill get some pics up hopefully over the weekend for now im just using an external power source if i get time over the weekend ill rip out the multimeter and start probing away, geeeez cant be too hard to find a stable point
I am curious about this as I am also keen to see if the files can be seen, located and hopefully made available to burn to external media.
If I remember correctly I remember reading an article in a computer magazine that had found a way to find or see these files for an external burn. If I find it I will post it.
I am still assuming that no one has seen or located these files yet. Has anyone else have any news?
Would love to have a play but I do not have one of these units - Still trying to decide if it is the best choice to be my next decoder to "play" with.
This box sounds great. I really hope the Octagon guys can make the box read XMLTV files when they launch the PVR firmwares. Nothing worse than having a PVR without a 7-day EPG to pick shows and name recorded files correctly!
interesting read checkit thanks mate lets hope it is the same with these units.
the file needed to mount the hard drive on windows
It does NOT work.
The format of the file system is "unknown".
Windows just wants to format the drive.
this is the problem....
and this is with that device driver loaded as well.
