Strong SRT 4653 Firmware

Hi,

I have an old Strong SRT 4653 non x that is still has the factory firmware. Does anyone know where I can find the official firmware or otherwise latest version than what I got.
The strong website doesn't seem to have the firmware for this model.

I found this on the RDI forum, don't have a clue if it will work.
It sure took some finding.

alright bro. lucky you!! BTW, SRT4653, 4655, 4657 s/w is same as 4652
i would suggest so, only you loose one or two kinds of encryption on
the patch pannel, but with the right loader can work for all.

I'm after an older version of the 4653 (non x) firmware. I have downloaded the one of the strong website that upgrades the stb to 1.51, but now when i turn on the reciever, it boots and after a few seconds freezes and has the number 0 or 5 display on the screen instead of the channel number. This happens constently.

Is their an older version floating around or should I do something to fix the problem?

I kill my 4658x every now and then testing firmware. It always comes back using the following

1. A full null modem cable. Not a 2-3 3-2 and a few links.
2. Connect the box to computer using cable.
3. Turn stong box off
4. Run SRTLoader.exe on PC
5. Browse and find firmware to load
6. press connect
7. Turn STU on
8. Make a coffee while it is updating. It takes about 2-3 mins

Box will reboot and etc if the firmware is correct.

I am currently running SRT4658X_137p_20080107 without any problems

It should work. Let me know if you need a working firmware.

If the above does not work let me know. I have done this on 4653x and 4658x boxes

Manual for 4653 CONAX and Firmware for SRT4650/3/4.
You must have been praying awful hard for me to eventually find them.

thanks for all the help so far guys. I contacted strong earlier today and they sent me the 1.49 firmware. I loaded it on no worries at all, but when I reboot it afterwaards, the same problem happens. Very Annoying.
