    Default Strong SRT4922B+

Looking for info on how I can add a BIS key on above reciever I have read that it a a simple numeric key press to do so but it does not work, does the unit require some sort of a patch first ?

If a Strong receiver has the appropriate firmware installed, the BISS menu can usually be accessed by pressing "8280".

This will not work with the factory installed firmware.....has to be firmware from elsewhere.

You could try trawling through the relevant sections of here:

    and here:

But, to be honest....for the 4922B+....I don't like your chances.

Most of the alternative firmware developed for that era of receiver is for the 4920_4922_4922A.

I don't think (but am not 100% certain) that you can use this stuff in the 4922B+.

I also believe that the SRT-4922B is a lost cause for the OP's intended purpose.

For a cheap receiver that does powerVu and Biss (and has a simple User interface ) Id go Freesat V7,V7combo,V7max. The Kepnix?Skybox A1/K1 are a good receiver as well just hard to get.

    Have you tried this:

To activate Biss Key Menu on your decoder.
*Press 8280 quickly on your remote. A new screen will popup.

Note: if nothing comes up, you must first activate the biss key option by pressing 6969, you will be prompted to enter a password, Just press 6969 again. Now, press 8280 to enter the Biss Key Menu to insert a biss key,
First, be on to the channel in question and press 8280, You will see a series of numbers and alphabet. You’ll mostly need to edit the first line.

The latest firmware is here but don't know if it enables biss. I own a strong 4950h.

So, are you are saying that an official software update provided by Strong is allowing you to use an SRT-4922B+ to decode Biss (and perhaps PowerVu)?

I have not tried Power Vu yet but it did allow me to access the menu option for BIss keys using 6969 to turn on and 8280 for menu

+1 for Kepnix and Skybox A1. For Power Vu Just point to the sat and it does it itself. Easy to add Biss key manually or do it on notepad and USB transfer

Yes it will do powervu etc They are not the K1/A1 and have very little support for upgrades latest is M1.40 (even though they look the same) firmware updates have stopped for that model which is why they are cheap. (I can help with a patched firmware though if you buy one that will allow you to update via another brands firmware)

None of the existing links worked for me... I added a few new links but very hit n miss..they dont play well...Im thinking its probably not the best box for that kinda stuff?!
