as per above, the answer is no - but Select is so cheap, supporting them by paying for it will only make them a stronger force against Big (f*x) Brother

It is possible but the problem is getting the HSN and other details onto the gamma card. Getting the other details is also another problem in itself.

What does Select cost?, about a dollar a day, Kill Select TV, and Rupert controls all of the Australian satellite TV market except Aurora.

What happens if so many people support the little guys that they become big guys? is it OK to use a select gam then?

When the little guy gets big enough to compete with the big guy generally the customer wins a little by way of wider choice.

Mr Murdoch's News limited is so big that no one has a fair chance of competing, The following is just his TV and Radio holdings.

    Fox Filmed Entertainment
20th Century Fox · 20th Century Fox Animation · 20th Century Fox Television · 20th Television · Fox 21 · Blue Sky Studios · Fox Atomic · Fox Faith · Fox Searchlight Pictures · Fox Studios Australia · Fox Television Studios · Fox Telecolombia
    US broadcast TV
Fox Broadcasting Company · Fox Television Stations · MyNetworkTV
    US cable TV
Fox Business Network · Fox College Sports · Fox Movie Channel · Fox News Channel · Fox Reality · Fox Soccer Channel · Fox Sports en Espaņol · FSN · Fuel TV · FX · National Geographic Channel (50%) · Speed Channel · SportSouth · TV Guide Network
    Fox O&Os
    KDFW · KMSP · KRIV · KSAZ · KTBC · KTTV · WAGA · WFLD · WFXT · WHBQ2 · WJBK · WNYW · WOFL · WTTG · WTVT · WTXF
    MyNetworkTV O&Os
    KCOP · KDFI · KTXH · KUTP · WDCA · WFTC · WPWR · WRBW · WUTB · WWOR
    Non-US and satellite TV
    AMP Radio Networks · B1 TV (12.5%) · BSkyB (39.1%) · bTV · Fox televizija (49.0%) · Foxtel (25%) · Imedi Media Holding · Phoenix Television (17.6%) · Premiere (25.01%) · SKY Italia · SKY Network Television (44%) · STAR TV · TV Puls (35%) · XYZnetworks (50%)

National Geographic Channel · National Geographic Channel HD · National Geographic Wild · National Geographic Adventure · Nat Geo Music · Nat Geo Junior
    Other assets
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment · Fox Family Fun · Fox Interactive Media · Fox News Talk · HarperCollins · IGN · National Rugby League (50%) · NDS · News America Marketing · News Outdoor · TV Guide · The Weekly Standard · Milkround Online · Fox International Channels Italy · MySpace
1WOGX is a partial satellite of WOFL. 2Sale Pending.
    Annual revenue: $23.9 billion USD (▲17% FY 2005) · Employees: 44,000 ·

Rupert through Fox media etc, sells movies and sports casts to his subsidiary cable and satellite networks at a whatever price he wants to charge, and News limited pockets the cash.
That way the cable and satellite providers that he owns can show on the books that they are not making a profit or barely covering costs and thereby are fully justified in charging whatever the market can pay.

I would (and do), and would recommend the Octagon SF918 as the consumer decoder of choice.
