Can anyone plz plz plz help me?
Howdy All,
I kindly seek your assistance with getting the ActiveSync feature working and get into Win CE 5.0 on my new generic GPS as below:
I am apparently able to upgrade the existing iGo maps to iGo8 without any fuss, but I want to be able to ideally run multiple GPS softwares as can be done of the Navgo SY885s by getting into Windows CE 5.0 (As detailed on navsoon.org)
Can anyone help? Seems like grw46 had luck getting the ActiveSync working and also installing other software etc...
Any help from anyone - however minute, I would extremely appreciate.
Many many thanks

Put your sd card in the reader and take a copy onto your comp.
Read the How tos on it
install active sync from the sd
Attach the Gps to your comp by the usb then follow the instructions in the read me on the card
Grab a copy of the menu from the above link and change the name of the folder to mobilenavigator, do the same with the .exe
change the path in the menu "mapcfg.ini to suit the programs you want to run and you're away. By the way Active sync will get you in more trouble than its worth if you dont know what your doing Cheers
Yes I did get rid of that annoying speed can mera thing but I,m sorry cannot remember exactly how. Memory is not what it used to be LOL
I'd just like to be able to run a different program to the one it came with (iGo 2006) like iGo8 and have tried the methods described on this forum but still get the error "Program application database cannot be found". I have not gone down the active sync route yet as I only want to replace iGo 2006 not run multiple software versions.

Ok I've got it working after I found a post on , see below what I did.
"I got the same type of message too. You will need to get hold of iGO 8 PND. I suggest you also get a new SD card just in case you have any problems.
You will need to do the following
1. BACKUP YOUR SD !!
2. CHECK YOUR BACKUP
3. Create a folder at the root SD mobilenavigator
4. Move the iGO files to this directory
5. Change the name of the *.exe to mobilenavigator.exe
6. copy the lines between the == == to the sys.txt file

I would like thank all the members who did the really hard work to allow me to get the E610 working.
The first time you run the software it WILL take a while to get going – make yourself a cup of tea, read the paper."
This worked for me I also edited the above sys.txt file with the following:
[gps]
port=3
baud=9600
because it wasn't finding my gps module.
Hope this helps all those who have been trying unsuccessfully to get this to work.
Thanks to all who helped me.

Data base not found
Generally all you need do is look at the sys.txt (its in the IGO* folder on your sd card) and if it shows the path as /sdmmc/igo8 just edit out the igo8 or what ever is there using a simple card reader. You get the database not found message because its looking for the wrong .exe. The rest of the sys.txt can pretty much be left alone as with igo it will find the port and baud rate on its own. At the worst case you can edit it from the igo interface map screen.
Sorry I was not clear with the port and baud rate
If it exists I remove it from the sys.txt completely and let the program find and set the port and baud ..All i have on the sys.txt is the App =/sdmmc /and possibly the interface line. Cheers
Probably the less in there the better, less to get wrong. I might experiment taking a few things out that don't look necessary. Initially I was just so happy to have it finally working I didn't worry too much as to what was in the sys file, plus I don't know much about the workings of them anyway.
