Default 2006 1.5 EZ Swift - High Idle Issue

    hello all

the missus just came home from work and when pulling up her 2006 swift 1.5 is idling at 2000rpm, it rises and falls slightly but remains mainly at 2000rpm...putting a/c on drops it to around 1000 but turn off a/c and it races to 2000rpm again.

can anyone suggest where to look first, i suspect idle control valve but am here to listen to more knowledgeable people in this field.

i appreciate any help, this is the wife's daily driver and she is in my Ute until i fix this.

    regards

Is that a drive by wire model? If so I'd be looking in that area for a false signal from the ecu.

I would look at vacuum leaks first then have someone read the ecu and see if there's any pending codes (fault codes won't always show a engine light) I suspect a split vacuum hose though .

Sounds like a cracked/broken hose somewhere causing a large vacuum leak.

Feel and listen around the hoses while the engine is running.

hey mate was the swift doing this from when you have purchased the vechicle? MAF or TCS could be playing a role or someone has adjust the curb idle screw due to you might have other issuses. First thing to do is get it hook up to a coms centre to run a diagnostics and then you might find what the actuall problem is
