Two very different applications. If you own a certain LG DVD-ROM drive, RawDump allows you to make an image of your wii game using your computer.

DVDump uses your Wii to dump a game to a SD card.

Either way works, though DVDump is faster.....but has more hassle. If i had a dvd drive compatible with RawDump, i would definitely use this method.

    Cheers, RHCP.

not to mention that you'll need to use DVDump 3 times to create an iso image. Rawdump takes longer but is set and forget!

I think RawDump 2.0 is only for the PC and DVDDump only for the Wii (GC homebrew ?)

I use RawDump 2.0 on my PC with the a LG drive

Ok,i've made 2 config discs one v1.2 and the other v1.3,the wii thinks they're gamecube games but when I hit start i get the "An Error has occured.Eject the disc blah blah blah".

I burnt the discs with IMG at 4x on ritek DVD-Rs.
    Anyone know what's wrong?
Does this disc definitely work with Wiinja V2 clones??

wouldn't know mate as I don't use clones

you may have to use a gamecube controller to set it up though.

I've got some goodies available for download on my site that might assist you though. Latest versions etc.

I'm trying with a wavebird controller and still no good.
I downloaded and burnt the GCOS version 1.2 and it gets me into the screen where you select your system type and no matter which system I choose I get to the config screen but can't move the selections or select anything.
The wavebird controller works on the previous screen so i don't think that's the problem.
Oh well,I have a stack of DVD-Rs here so i'll keep trying .
But it's starting to give me the shits.

Oh,the only reason I have a clone Wiinja is because it was out before the real thing.
Looks like i'll have to buy a Wiikey?

nah don't be silly, you don't have to, its just that the wiikey is by far more prevalent than the Wiinja(I've only installed 1 Wiinja, but about 2K+ Wiikey's)

Try the config 1.3(which is GCOS 1.5) on my website mate?

    Yeah,I tried that one first.
I just did an update on my Wii,it was only done not long ago after SMG came out.Now the 1.3 version loads up OK,but I still can't select anything,it's just stuck on Wiifree configuration.
I'm downloading Ninjashells ISO pack now,so i'll see how that goes.AAAARRRRGGGHHH.

Other option is a LG drive and just run it in the computer. Cost $50 odd. Quick and easy. No stuffing around with memory card.

I wouldn't have thought it would matter what chip you had (so long as it could boot the disc).

So your stuck at the first/root wiikey config disc menu?....

The reset button doesn't do anything?

Reset button does nothing at all.

When I tried the ninjashell version it goes through to the bit where it says put in original game disc and hit A button, then it says "Now get file ,where the hell do I get that from? I typed it into my browser but it found nothing??

    I sorted it out finally!
There was a problem with the chip programming, this latest programming that works with SMG doesn't work with those backup programs.I fitted my original programmed chip and now it all works as it should.
The reset button does nothing at all with the updated chip installed, but with the old one it works fine
