Default Using standard IP camera in POE system

I have a new 8-port NVR running 6 cameras using POE.

I have older IP camera (that has a separate ethernet and power) so I'm wondering whether I will experience issues if I plug it into the NVR. I'm thinking it should be OK but thought I would ask the experts before connecting it up.

Any modern PoE switch is autosensing and will only supply power if it needs to.
So unless a switch detects a compliant device at the other end, no power is sent.
