    Default Dsc 1565

I Pray to the Great DSC God that someone will grant me my Boon, and empart the knowledge of these panels on me...

    Gents!

I've got a client that has a 1565, with a trouble light on, I've been to site, *2'd the bugger, and there is nothing there, honestly no lights light up. If I turn the power off and reset it, I reset the time and date, and the trouble light doesnt go away. The keypad has a zone plugged into it when I look at the back of the keypad, but at the panel end, its not plugged into anything...

The funny thing is that 5 stays up for a while after a reset and then goes away, just leaving the trouble light on.... No programming has changed, the customer knocked the keypad off the wall and got us out to fix it back up (No wires where loose that I could see, the only thing I can think of is perhaps it monitors the Bus and there is an intimitant fault with the connection?)

Battery 13.78 AC 17.6 Minimal Current Draw Resistor accross the Bell output, Sirens Draw less than 200mA when triggered...

Anyone have any thoughts, I'm at a loss and I cant get a straight answer out of the new retailers...

    Thanks!!

Try reprogramming the time and date. I had a weird one like that, turned out to be T&D.

Is there any wireless modules on the system?
If so, and they are working ok, in the back of the manual, there is a 900 command u can enter to re initialize and reset the modules.

If monitored, check the PSTN line voltage, check that line fault monitoring is turned offf as well.

    Howdy All...

No wireless modules on the unit, I might try a reprogram and see what happens, DSC's are strange beasts at times..

Yeah feel like that sometimes. Some panels you can deactivate the service light through programming.......not sure about the DSC.

I would try function [902] in prog mode to reset modules.

Great idea, lets disable the service light.
I mean, its not on for any valid reason, just one of those annoying things i guess.

Is that why u like Rhino panels ?

The problem is probably that a zone or module was in tamper or trouble and it was programmed out while still in tamper or trouble. The panel hasn't seen a restore on that zone and even though it has been programmed out it needs one before it is happy.

Best thing to do is to default the panel and reprogram it. 2 minutes work if you know what you are doing. You could try doing an upload if option 1 doesnt tickle your funny bone. The history will tell you what the issue was or is.

In that case a simple power down or enter/ exit program mode should fix that one would think.
