There are hundreds of guests just on one single IP, so its likely a malicious denial of service attack rather than actual users.

Not impressed with our hosts support speed, just gave them a rocket via live chat.

For a big hosting company, Liquid Web are the pits when it comes to support. I will be moving the site, this just isn't good enough. Wiredtree would have almost anything fixed in 10 minutes, including this issue.

depending on your current plan etc, you could try domain.com for hosting.

hopefully you can get enough traffic logs to take action against the owner of the ip address(es) that are causing the issues, even if its a vpn provider

I am presuming it was a deliberate attack. Support hasn't done anything 2 hours (and 2 blasts via Live Chat) after submitting the request.
I fixed it, but it took a longer amount of time doing it myself than what Liquid Web should have done.

We will be moving to a new host at sometime over the next couple of days. I dont expect much in the way of downtime as its all pretty easy these days with CPanel to Cpanel transfer, the only slight delay is changing nameserver IP addresses.

    Thanks for everyones patience.

They couldn't handle something like this site, they only do shared hosting. We require VPN or dedicated hosting.

If we were on shared hosting and had an attack like we just had, we would not be very popular Shared hosting has hundreds of websites on the one box....which would have all gone down as well.

    We are moving to

    All looking good now.

Agreed, pathetic support from the host.

ah i keep forgetting the whole shared vs dedicated hosting thing.

had a vps with linode in the past then moved it to serversaustralia, once they got bought out i moved back to linode, but now plan on moving over to AWS.

i know how you feel with lazy support too and having to blast them, optus and telstra live chat are good examples of this.

fingers crossed though that over the next few hours the number of connections drops, and the hosting provider pulls their finger out and does something.
but it is one sure fire way to loose business, drag your feet over issues like this

They still haven't answered the ticket.

I am leaving it open just out of interest to see how long it takes. Its heading towards 3 hours which is astounding.

Anyway, bugger them. I have purchased a new VPN and we are definately moving. Price is similar and specs are almost identical (again with SSD drives).

Knownhost technical support answered in 1 minute. Yes, 1.
Liquid Web technical support currently @ 3 hours and 4 minutes without response.

Posts have gone missing, so I will have to post again.

We had all sorts of problems, with server software, every time you move to a new server there is new versions of this, that and everything else.

I changed the domains DNS to point to the new server and went to bed. For those peoples whos ISP updated, they were directed to a non working page.

This morning I tried to get us up and running with the new host, but as I couldn't guarantee how long it was going to take, I made the decision to switch our DNS back here.

After a few hours of contact with new host, site is working. But for the meantime, we are staying here. We will move in a week or so after I am happy everything is working 100%. A new migration backup will have to be done then, but it is working with the one taken yesterday.

Sorry for the inconvenience to everyone, I'll take some blame for this one.

This is the new one. Due to all the DNS changes, users are spread out over 2 sites depending on your isp.

This is going to be an issue for people for up to 48 hours, when I change the DNS address on our domain austech.info, it filters out across the internet and is updated at different intervals by ISP's.

Unfortunately, due to the not working/now got it going situation, I have changed DNS settings multiple times, so even if you are here now, you might get sent back to the old one, and then back sent here again.

Unfortunately there isnt much I can do, 3/4 of people got changed overnight, then I was told they couldn't fix the problem, so I changed it back, then 5 mins later they fixed it, so I changed it back again.

I am not sure how much sense that makes to people, and I realise its a pain in the arse, but it will sort itself out.

Austech was offline yesterday (with the reason posted)
Once fixed, around 5pm, Austech worked better then ever.

As of this morning at 5am, Austech has been near useless for me.
No matter how many reboots of gear i have.

    Example

And so on, many more examples

Oh good, I'm on the new one, usually takes DNS changes a long time to get thru to me.
Thanks for the effort to keep us informed Andrew.

On a side note, how come the forum time is GMT+11 instead of 10?
It has been +11 since the first move on 9/4/17.
I'm also no longer getting email notifications of subscribed thread changes since 20/4/17, could be my crappy @live.com.au address, will try changing it to @gmail when the forum is all on the one server.
    Cheers, Tiny
