    Default Paradox and new IP150

So this new recent rollout of this cloud based IP150 is so shit.

My first question is. Is it possible to downgrade the ip150 to a version below 4.

I prefer to port forward manually and use a dynamic dns service such as noip and connect manually.

I have had issues with the cloud based setup with speeds. The insight gold app is horrible and it is just so slow.

    Your thoughts?

I used to love paradox for their ease, reliability especially when it came to things like this and also wireless. Now im having second thoughts

hmm interesting feedback. Haven't used it since it's been updated.
I'm sure they will fix it in due course. Maybe rushed to market.
The Bosch MyAlarm app is good.

Might be able to get the old firmware from Paradox website.

I think they have stopped supporting downgrades. They now charge a yearly fee rather then a app fee.

I think all alarm brands are going down the path of fees for remote apps.
I guess it also creates some on going revenue for the alarm installing company.

Clipping the ticket as it goes by is an easy way to get recurring revenue.
I understand that some stuff in the US that is on fixed line be it Vdsl, Adsl or Fiber has a no Cost to the user but the connection via a sim has a small charge.

I believe that the latest IP150s have come out and will cause nothing but problems for the existing loyal customers who currently have multi-site installs that wish to expand.

The inability to choose a server based or direct connection seems like a poor decision imo.
I found it annoying that we were forced to used PMHDNS but have since learnt to love it.

I wonder if those families or businesses that have forked out for multiple instances of iParadox will be able to be re-imbursed for the massive amounts spent on purchasing the app? And what about multi-site installs when an IP module dies and needs to be replaced? The worst part is trying to contact Paradox directly to find out who the muppet is making these decisions.

We are seriously thinking of changing over to Bosch. At least there's some kind of consistency!

I can see all these free servers progressively being changed to a paid service,

I recall a few years ago CSD had a free push notification device, (was at ASIAL a few years ago) this is now a paid service,

Someone has to pay for the servers and running them

They get you in with lots of hollow promises, get you use to using it, make lots of changes to the products & then hit you up with extra costs with a big like it or lump it big stick attitude. Just like the way big business and the banks treat you.
