    Angry Falcone BA electrical problem

Hi Guys. Just tried to jump in the car and could not start the engine. My battery was discharged. Put the new one in and realized that radio display is not working and none of the buttons on the panel (door locks, internal lights, A/C etc) not working as well. I have check all fuses inside and the ones in engine bay and all passed the test with multimeter. Car starts and drives and all lights are working. What the hell happened and what else I can test???

Have you checked voltages at the fuse box?

    Have you checked fuseable links?

    Have you checked earthing?

    Hi Crownclit

Have you tried a full system reboot.

Now that you have a good battery try disconnecting it again for a minute or two.

I have had customers come in with radio's of all makes not working at all and by the time it hits the test bench it's working again.

The radio module in the BA's is also prone to dry joints on the main connector as well that can knockout the ICC.

    Cheers

    SS Dave

No i have not. Could you give me some basic info how to do that and where to take readings from? Do i measure V on each fuse? Engine running or not?

SS Dave - Done reboot - no change
Hoe - Pardon my ignorance, I do know only few basics about the cars. What would be checking the starter leads prove? Engine starts normally no problems there. Looks like everything is working except radio panel and controls for A/C, light and doors. Lights for the buttons are working as well.

You can check fused circuits with or without engine running, keeping in mind some circuits will only be energised with accessories or ignition selected on.

Check earthing cables/straps both physically and electrically.

Check all fusible links in the engine bay for continuity and voltage in and out of them.
