Updating an extremely old android tablet?
Hi, i have a very old generic android tablet that is running android 2.2, Is there any way to upgrade it to a newer/better version? I want to do this because almost every app crashed upon launch and is so bad. I believe it is rooted. There is no system updates. (I do not know much about the technical side of android)
(i now believe it is an APAD IMX515)
Device details:
Model Number: mainboard
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband version: Unknown
Kernel version: 2.6.31-01012-g4f92f93-dirtyroot@taojixiong-desktop #511
Build number: imx51_bbg-eng 2.2 FRF85B eng.root20101129.082308 test-keys
Thanks in advance for your repsonse

Its screwed mate.
I have a very old Samsung Tab 1 that was running very old android and got it as far as Android 3. It just cant handle modern apps.
They are very much the same as desktop computers, they just get too old.

I think the furthest you can upgrade your device is to android version 2.3. Trying to upgrade it to any further would definitely be a failed attempt.
