    Default BF430 lost password

I have forgotten my login and password to the BF unit ,is there any way to reset these?
I have attempted the reset method via serial port using null modem cable and hyperterminal without success.
Anyone have any idea how to successfully reset these.

    Thanks.

that is he only method I know about and have performed the hyperterminal method twice now successfully.

You might want to try again or a different cable perhaps...?

That procedure definitely works. Maybe you are using a straight though cable?

Could be a power supply problem.

Have noticed in the past if you use a 9v supply, you will get power indicator lighting up but no RX/TX..

Maybe try 12V if you havent already..

    Just a thought..

9v works fine as long as the available current is more than 650ma

the hyperterminal method works every time.

Is the switch on the side set to rs232???

You have about 2 seconds when power applied to do the key combination.

CrYpto is it a newer one or is it the older model ???

if its a newer one from sattronics you may be in luck mate.I have just had to sort one out for a member and when i popped it open guess what ???? there is a factory reset switch built into them now.

    step

    1: disconnect power and network
    2: take top off
3: just to the left and under the daughter board there is a tiny switch
4: press switch in and hold while plugging power in
    5: hold for 20 seconds
6: wait 30 seconds and remove power then re power and plug network in
7: start ip search and locate the unit and change ip to desired ip
    8: smile and be happy

Sattronics always has the latest models of those Bf430 units.

    With all the correct firmware.

You can actually plug the older cpu modules into the new carrier assembly to force a reset on them that way also.

Or short the two pins near JP7.
