Generic GPS off eBay

Hi

I just bought one of these off eBay.



I was wondering if I could run TOM TOM software on it. If so, can someone point me in the right direction of what I need to have the latest and complete TOM TOM package on it including speed cameras and POI. I have done some reading but am a little confused by version numbers etc.

I would say there is a good chance you could put other software on it,

Well it finally arrived and I have managed to get IGO8 working ok, (TTS not working) but am unable to get TT7 working. Keep getting out of memory errors.

Any ideas.

i have the same unit as you stokbroka i have r66 igo8 navigator and sygic running on it but no joy with tomtom mine loads but i get the no map error

For TTS go to and down load Kate or Simon. Unzip and put the TTS.loq folder and all of the .dll (4)in your igo8 folder put the voice in contents>voice . Cheers.

The TomTom7 memory prob is a persistent one and has got me a couple of times. Try reinstalling, a different sd card and if that fails take heart in that iGO8 is probably a better system anyway

I found this version of iGO8 and it has the TTS files included I just installed the lot and it all works nicely, it's the 6 rar files at the bottom of the thread not the 3 at the top.

I had trouble with TomTom7 not being able to find my maps.
The solution is to put a copy of note_prj.dll in the root of your TT files this will point TT to find the map files in the \SDMMC\Program Files folder.
After you install note_prj.dll you may find you have a file called CurrentMap.dat
I then edited this (CurrentMap.dat)and moved my maps to a folder I created and called Australia.

I have bought the Nokia 330 Auto Navigation gps unit from there is no need to worry about where you're going. The Nokia 330 Auto Navigation has an integrated GPS receiver. The device contains a 2GB memory card.
