At least the copper didn't get away with it. You'd hope that the yanks would realise that bang sticks are designed for only one purpose.

Nope, but maybe their shoot first and check ID later mentality might have to change a bit, at least when targeting white people with a strange accent.
20 million hurts the tax payer even there.

the time he spends in the clink is not the main point with this case
its more about the changing of their mentality and laws because
this case has thrown their deference of shooting some one with no
    recourse out the window

I wonder how much Police reporting declined after that shooting?
So much for a positive community engagement

Probably the paranoia they seem to instil in cops these days particularly in the US.
They have this thing about " making sure they come home at the end of the day", they are so hell bent on, they seem to forget everyone else has family that want them to come home as well... especially when they are already at home in their PJ's.

That ideal/ excuse pretty much shits me. They aren't the only ones doing a dangerous job, matter of fact they are way down the list, not even in the top 10. Why do they think they are so special and grandstand about their job as if no one else is putting their arse on the line as well?
Wonder if anyone has done a study on the most dangerous workers to come across by the general public? Pretty sure cops would score a lot better on that list in the US.

Would be interesting to know what really happens to cops when locked up? Do they have to spend all their time locked away or segregated from the other prisoners or do they really get the hard time that one is lead to believe?

Guy strikes me as someone you'd like to smack just for the stupid and indignant look he always seems to have on his smug face.

    Some interesting Body Cam footage

The total confusion and incorrect information given when the Sargent reaches the scene is a worry.

The woman outside with the placard was Typical. Is there anything in the US that isn't turned into a black/ white - religion conspiracy?

I don't know what the US justice system is like but hopefully it's better than ours and he won't be out in 3 years for " good behaviour" .
Where did that crock come from. Shouldn't good behaviour be the required minimum standard and rather than get a reduction in sentence for that, you only get extra time for anything BUT good behaviour?

No matter what time Noor does, at some point though, he'll be released and that will churn it all up again for the family and the finance. There will always be the multiple reminders of dates that never let them get past the pain and suffering and no celebration or occasion will ever be truly happy for them again. You never get past the elephant that ISN'T in the room when they should be.

Noor gets however many years, the family gets the rest of their lives. I'll bet each and every one of them would jump at the chance to do 12 or 20 years and get her back or stop it ever happening.

Looks like the murder conviction of Noor has been overturned by a US Supreme Court.

Noor is to be re-sentenced for manslaughter, which is an offence which seems to more accurately fit the circumstances. Shows how the jury system relies heavily on emotions in making their decisions rather than evidence.

Allow me to pretend to be a juror in the USA:

Discharging fire arms is our no.1 national sport in the USA.
I am astonished he got sentenced at all, well he is black, discrimination at play?
Just because he had a nervous twitch in his trigger finger is no reason to put a man to jail.
That woman was fault, standing in the way of his gun.

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

I thought she called them because there was a disturbance in her yard....that's what Aussies do. A septic would have just got his AK47 and plastered everything in sight.

Its was the Minnesota State Supreme Court. Not US supreme court.

That right - as I said, the decision was overturned by ‘a’ US Supreme Court, not ‘The’ US Supreme Court.
