Transfer Files from Huawei Y300 To Samsung J1

As the title says, is there an easy way of transferring files (contacts, messages, pics, etc) from a Huawei Y300 to a Samsung J1?

I've tried Huawei HiSuite and Samsung Kies and SmartSwitch and nothing seems to communicate with the Huawei.

Searching seems to suggest it's a common issue, as there are a few software apps for 'sale' to overcome this.

Does anyone know of a free alternative to export/import the files?

I was recently able to use Samsung SmartSwitch with a Huawei P2 exporting to a Samsung S8 with no problem.
