Default Trying to use Mobile Phone Tools in Vista

    Hi

Have a Motorola V6 maxx mobile, the software works fine in XP, installed on Vista, installs etc but the software does not detect the phone. Vista sees the phone as a modem but will not connect via the usb cable.

Try again on XP, works fine in the same usb port and same cable (on same laptop as dual boot XP and vista). For the life of me I cannot get it to work on Vista, anyone else got it working on Vista or have any suggestions?

    Cheers

    Thanks mate

Sorry forgot to mention that I have also tried to use that software, same result phone does not get detected by either software, must be a Vista driver issue ?

Yeh have tried again in Vista continually loops installing the drivers, detects the cable and phone installs and goes back and continues in a loop.

Try opening your existing programme in compatability mode for windows xp, or download latest copy motorola phone tools from the web somewhere.

Both methods worked for me but i hate vista now so i changed my computer back to xp.

    Yep 4.5.1 on vista business.

Don't know what my previous ver was (think it was 4.0), but had to remove it completely before latest one would work - tried to load new one over existing and it wouldn't find my phone - btw motorola site says for V6 maxx ver 4.3.6 and up required.
