Suspect Car Sale Sites?

When looking for a vehicle, i use the usual carsales.com.au, gumtree and maybe the local paper

But in my searches, i always see this "trovit" site and to some extent, "showandsellcars" returning what seems to utter rubbish results.

It seems rubbish to me, because i happen to know this exact vehicle sold in April this year for $27,000 from Cobdon, VIC
I know this, because i was there driving it.

Yet i find the exact same pictures used to sell the car in April from a Farmer in Cobdon, being shown on the sites i've linked above..
Contact details given look very bogus also

These sites just a scammers paradise or sites worth looking at?

Show and sell cars - avoid




Trovit is a search engine and could be pulling up anything from anywhere - also avoid.

carsales.com.au can be a pain in the arse, but at least they have protections in place.

I recently sold a 1975 mk 1 Ford Escort on there with no problems. Its actually the first time I have ever sold a car without speaking to the buyer....all via email or carsales messaging and got a friend to meet them on site to collect payment. The buyer told my friend "this is a first for me, I bought a car without even speaking to the guy selling it !"
