don't do it, far too dangerous.....
stress cracks could cause it to shatter any time.....
and im fairly sure if you check the vehicle standards regulations, repaired or modified allot wheels are not allowed.
Hey
My son in law hit a pot hole and dented his alloy rim causing
The tyre to deflate.
He is looking at about $400 to replace the rim.
Anyone know a wheel fixer that might re roll the rim???
Thanks.

There are many. What part of this great country do you live in?
Though really, $400 for a new rim aint that bad.

BMW body works throw them straight into the scrap bin because as to what Hoe said
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

I suggest you get photo of the pot hole and damage, and lodge a claim with either council if the road is under their jurisdiction or if its a national highway see your local politician, after all your paying registration to use these roads, that are unsafe, I certainly do not recommend getting it repaired, as hoe outlined above
Thanks guys. I'll pass on your comments and warnings to him.

If it's a steel rim, a lot of wheel shops can unweld the centre off and weld the new one. Alloy wheel are far more expensive..I would not do it as safety issue.
any panelbeater will have access to a contractor that can repair and refurbish alloys. Insurance companies pay for wheel repairs all the time so there would be some limit on what they can and cant repair.
I should clarify that I'm talking about cast alloy wheels, some of the expensive new ones are machined from a forged billet and can be repaired.
