I mentioned somewhere earlier I was with ABB under the old Govt BB scheme using the Ipstar Satellite.
As with the present SkyMuster run by the NBN, the ISP has bugger all to do with the operation other than answering the phone and issuing you with the Monthly Bill.
After some months of erratic operation, a technician was sent out and he found water had got into the 'F' connectors due to being poorly sealed on installation, the tech was sent out by a company called SkyBridge who I have suspect are also doing the present Skymuster installations and I wouldnt be surprised to see they do others as well.
Dear old Aussie Broadband sent me an email one day after being with them some two years to advise me they were transferring my account to another ISP (Skymesh) because they had decided to cease being involved with the Satellite Internet and concentrating on their ADSL market.
They thanked me for being a good customer and paying my bill on time each month which I thought was jolly decent of them..............
I doubt ABB own any of the equipment they are using to connect you to the Internet, rather they renting space from a carrier like Telstra, Optus or other who serves your area.
The proof of the pudding will be how reliable the connection is, how often it breaks down and how quickly they respond and rectify any problems.
I am guessing they have been involved in the Internet for many years around the Warnambool ? area and have now expanded into other areas as I remember seeing notices from them being available in XYZ area !!
