fandtm666 what's a good but SIMPLE firewall for people to use that's not a constant annoyance ????

Unless you’re running the games server itself there is little point in them knowing your IP address. Giving them your IP does allow them to probe your system for weaknesses or run a denial of service attack against your IP perhaps. Maybe you terminated with extreme prejudice a want a be hacker or script kiddie in the game.
best4less i use sygate
thanks guy i think you actually call it IP address cant remember the game but you go to the site and can go on to the same game but on different servers and my son was on a server and the guy reckon he couldnt play properly with my son so wanted the IP address something said this was not a good idea thanks for your advice
Thanks for that i will download it now and see how she goes

is probably the best free firewall out there, but in the past i've used sygate as comodo has an obscure issue with some programs i make and constantly run (wouldn't happen for anyone else) it still worked fine, but i got sick of clicking 'allow'...both are good pieces of kit.
As been said, unless your the server there is no need to give out your IP. But if you have everything up-to-date and sealed, i wouldn't be too worried.

comodo is ok, when installing a new program select treat as a downloader/installer and select installation mode when popup window comes up, saves a lot of clicking.
