Default Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Well Disney's latest effort at the Star Wars franchise is something of an enigma. It seems to be doing quite well at the box-office, but at the same time, there seems to be a high level of dissatisfaction with actual Star Wars fans.

While the film could be said to be visually stunning, I'm afraid I came away with an overall feeling of disappointment. The movie is quite epic at 2˝hrs long, but the whole story doesn't seem to have gone anywhere by the end. There were a few story arcs set up in the previous movie that were just snuffed out like an old durrie, seemingly just to annoy anyone who cared.

Apparently it is popular with kids and casual movie-goers who don't really care much about Star Wars. That's Disney for ya I suppose.

Seems to me as an outsider, i.e. I have yet to see the movie, that there are some who are just Disney haters period and appear to have biased judgement.

I know several serious SW fans who love it. As they did Rogue One.

When I HAVE seen it I'll revisit this thread.

I saw the original Star Wars as a 10 year old kid and it was mind blowing. A little older I saw Return of the Jedi which was good, but not as good as the original.

I have not watched another Star Wars movie since and doubt I will. Anything that gets in to part 3 and over is flogging a dead horse, but unfortunately that's most movies these days. Original ideas don't exist and its easier to flog remake after remake to kids who dont know any better.

Well I wouldn't have thought I was necessarily a Disney hater, and I didn't mind Rogue One, or The Force Awakens. But this movie just seemed a bit 'empty'. The story arcs just didn't seem very well thought out I suppose.

According to many internet entertainment sites and reviewers, the people who didn't like this latest instalment are all misogynistic, alt-right, original trilogy fan-boys, who are having conniptions over the fact that the movie wasn't made "the way they wanted". I certainly wouldn't have described myself that way, but hey, if paid industry journalists are saying it, it must be true.

Only managed to see this at the Cinemas last week. Wasn't going to go, but I've seen every Star Wars release at the Cinemas since the Original, Like Admin, But when I was about 13yo.
I'm not a Disney Hater, (Couldn't care less about Disney really) but I mostly base a movie on how much I want to re watch Scenes from the movie, once I have downloaded it.
There isn't a single Scene in this movie I want to see. It just wasn't interesting, and full of stupid things that I won't say, as it may be spoilers, and not sure if that's allowed. Yes, looked and sounded great at the Cinemas, but that's not enough for me.
