Looks like you can't run a TCP client with a serial to a PC with this new version or am I missing something?

Yes a hummy via a season on another Lan PC, not the PC with the Card reader as I know you can use another com port.

yeah seems as if its not implemented yet...
z80 do you know if the data protocol is the same as previous versions, ie maybe run the 865 client with the 071 server? I havent had time to test yet.

    no that will not work.

Use a bf430 for a remote Humax/etc that is the way the author intended it.

sattronics sell them and it is by far better than a remote pc.

I finally got the time to setup & try out GW, a nice little program. But I’m having some issues with my dreambox’s not always connecting.

What happens is my GW server runs a whitey , then I start the server & one off my DM’s connects successfully & gets pics no problem, then I change channel on DM to another provider (Optus B3) with that connection being on another server running NEWCS, at this stage it is still working fine & gets pics.

Now the problem I’m having is when I decide to change channels back to GW, it has no pics at all & on GW server it displays this client(DM) ready but not connected, but previously it had connected & the ” running” message.

Is anyone else having this same issue or have I missed some configuration steps on my GW server?

    Cheers

about the only thing I'd suggest is maybe using a different cam for your B3 viewing ie mgcam and sticky that for the B3 provider..............that way when you connect to B3 the cam will stop on your GW and start on the newcs server, when you go back, again the cam will stop and the other will start, should create the connections without much trouble I hope

But the strange thing is that when GW looses a DM client connection, it does not automaticly accept another connection from same DM client, if client is trying to reconnect, I then need to restart GW & then DM client connection is accepted.

I don't know if there is something that I need to configure on server or is it a bug with this version of GW.

    Anyone?

I would say (besides the fact I'm simple) that I'm doing something wrong. I stopped the old GW and started this new. The new GW connects to all my shares but it will not read any card info no matter what type of card I use. I have the new one setup with the same settings as the old one. Expect for the camkey and such which I don't understand. I thought it was simple but seems it has the beter of me. Any have a suggestion I what big switch I did not flick on.

1: have you added the card through CARDS/ ADD RS232 and set it for auto start

2: once card is added you must then assign that card for each client

3: DO NOT use the old ini file. You must input all details into GWM manually so it creates the correct ini

Yeah added the card as RS232.. Under card details I get no info (unlike the old GW)

Also assigned the clients to the card.. Just trying aurora details and see if at least I can get that working

Just installed it on another laptop with winxp and works perfect. So either,

    Does not like win98se
    Does not like old laptop.

I only have 128meg on that laptop so can't hit winxp on it even if I wanted.

Anyone else using win98se to run it?
