I have a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ V2.
Initially it had 1 WD 3 TB HDD.
I'm running it is x-RAID2 format.
I bought a second WD 3TB HDD and as according to the manual, the second drive becomes the parity drive allowing for redundancy in case of a HDD failure.
Which is exactly what is occurring now. The 2nd drive is sync with the 1st making it a 2 drive redundant NAS.
Now, I will be adding a 3rd and 4th drive over the next few weeks.
My question, am I dictated by the redundancy drive to only be able to install 3 TB drives of can I make the 3rd and 4th 4 TB drives?
I believe that 4 TB is the max that my NAS will accept as an individual drive.
Thanks for your help.
