Elite 8D False Alarms - Anyone experienced this?
Hey guys,
I recently got a second hand Elite 8D panel for cheap and put it up in detached garage to protect all the tools and whatnot.
I installed reed switches on zones 1,3 & 4 and a gen 1 Bosch blueline tritech on zone two. In the last few weeks since it's been installed though there have been two false alarms with both of them being on zone two.
I've got all zones setup as normally closed without any EOL resistors and no zone doubling used. I've always trusted the Bosch sensors which is leading me to believe it's the panel.
I'm just hoping that someone out there might have experienced this before and be able to confirm it's the panel. I'm this close to binning it and putting something from this decade in!
Cheers

How and where is it mounted and what is it looking at? These detectors will look through walls, glass etc and could be set off by your neighbour etc
Swap zone 2 with one of the other zones, say zone 3 at the panel.
If zone 2 still false alarms, then it’s the panel that is faulty.
If zone 3 false alarms, then it’s either the PIR, the PIR cable, or the environment.

Thanks for the responses Andrew and jrtech.
It is looking at a 3D printer which could do both the heat and movement to set off both sensors but it's very small movement compared to say a human walking across a room.
When I set it up, I aimed to set the microwave power to just reaching the far wall which seemed to work - when I walked by on the outside wall, it wouldn't trigger the microwave element.
That's a good plan - I'll swap it and report back if the issue persists!
