    Default Telstra VoLTE

Just it's self explanatory, so read on.

    What is VoLTE?

VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a technology that enables voice calling over 4G. Without VoLTE, your phone must drop back to 3G during voice calls. VoLTE allows users to stay on the 4G network during voice calls.
VoLTE runs on reserved bandwidth so the voice quality is high and its not competing with data services for bandwidth. The operation is entirely transparent to the user. VoLTE calls will be charged in exactly the same manner as 3G voice calls. There are no additional data charges.

    BYO

These are small sample of devices that have not been tested or sold by Telstra. But these have connected with some volume to Telstra VoLTE.
Like 3G calling Telstra Network does not restrict any handset for VoLTE. If Telstra sells the handset Telstra work with the Vendor to get VoLTE working and warrant the solution E2E.
So Telstra doesn't have any timing for other BYO devices.
Telstra also can't say if they work really really good or otherwise. As the VoLTE standards are quite new: Like any purchase, I would check with some else that they are happy with the device before outlaying the cash.
If it is bought from Telstra they will do their best to resolve any issues.
Hopefully, in 12 months many more of the BYO Handsets will work.
Unsure what firmware is needed to get these working. Unknown what outlets are selling the devices with features enabled. There are however some of these devices working on Telstra's Network.

    Telstra VoLTE FAQ

    What is VoLTE?

VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a technology that enables voice calling over 4G. Without VoLTE, your phone must drop back to 3G during voice calls. VoLTE allows users to stay on the 4G network during voice calls.
VoLTE runs on reserved bandwidth so the voice quality is high and its not competing with data services for bandwidth. The operation is entirely transparent to the user. VoLTE calls will be charged in exactly the same manner as 3G voice calls. There are no additional data charges.
How long do I need to wait for activation?

It is being enabled for customers that have registered as above. In order to save battery life this normally takes about 4 hours if its the first time the service has VOLTE. Unfortunately Telstra Front of House will not be able to fast-track you.
    Where is VoLTE available?

VoLTE is available in all Telstra 4G and 4GX coverage areas. When a 4G signal is unavailable, voice calls will automatically switch to the 3G network. 4G-only small cell areas were updated to allow VoLTE on the 14 Dec 2016.

What will happen if I drop out of a 4G area?

Voice calls will be carried seamlessly across from VoLTE to 3G without any interruptions or drop-outs.
    Does VoLTE support Emergency 000?

Yes, E000 has been extended to Telstra LTE coverage. But you must download the latest firmware to your handset.
Any change to the way I make or receive calls on my phone using VoLTE?

No, you make and receive calls the same way you normally do. MessageBank, MessageBank Plus and EasyCall (Call Diversion, Call Waiting, etc) will also continue to work as they do today.
Conference Call allows you to bring up to 5 people into the call.
The only minor difference you may notice is that VoLTE to VoLTE calls may have a slightly different ring tone as it's provided by the handset for some call types and not the network. (This has been resolved on later phone firmware versions)
    What about international roaming?

There are currently no VoLTE roaming agreements with international carriers. Your device will automatically switch to the local 3G network if you’re making calls while overseas.
Does VoLTE use mobile data? Does disabling mobile data turn off VoLTE?

No, the data used by the IMS APN that carries voice and signalling is not charged in Australia and eventually overseas (VoLTE doesn't work overseas at the moment). Similarly, the HOS APN used to control supplementary service settings (call diversion settings, etc.) is not charged in Australia or overseas.
The IMS / HOS APNs are not disabled using the mobile data on/off toggle on the phone as they're both not associated with mobile data usage. The IMS APN is used exclusively to provide a guaranteed pipe for calling.
If I call a non-VoLTE device will my device fall back to 3G?

No. If you are in LTE coverage, you can call anyone in the world and the call will remain VoLTE (the phone will stay on 4G).
HD Voice however needs both devices to support it, and all the networks in-between to fully support it as well.
Are there any Telstra services which interfere with VoLTE?

You will not be migrated to VoLTE if you have any of these:

    1. Mobile Protect
    2. Call Select / Call Manager / Mobile VPN
    3. Terminating CS data/fax

    Supplementary Service Control implementation

Your VoLTE handset will be able to change your division settings on LTE.
When VoLTE product is provisioned the HOS APN is added. A VoLTE compliant device detects HOS APN and sends any Supplementary Service over this using a protocol called XML Configuration Access Protocol (XCAP).
So if you change say your diversion via either the menu or short codes they will go over the HOS APN and ultimately change the diversion settings in the IMS (VoLTE). The HOS APN is used on LTE, 3G and overseas.
So the change is immediately available in the IMS domain. The IMS then replicates these settings to the HLR (3G).
So both the HLR (3G) and the IMS (VoLTE) should be aligned. We do this replication in both direction in case you change the setting on a old flip phone.
What are the benefits for the end user?

    • More coverage than 3G alone
    • shorter call setup
    • Increases handset battery, less current drain
    • guaranteed call quality
    • ability to simultaneously access 4G data while making a voice call;
    • increased support for HD voice calling.
    • VoLTE calls may be seamlessly handed over between LTE and Wi-Fi and vice versa.

Over the longer term there will be an increasing number on 4G only areas, meaning that VoLTE will be required to make/receive a call.
For Voice you now effectively a whole new 4G network providing you with coverage that is being heavily invested in. As well as seamlessly dropping back to Telstra's existing 3G coverage if needed.
A example is between 1st July 15 and 31st Dec 15 Telstra upgraded 1,243 sites to 4GX using superior APT700 spectrum for more reliable service and deeper in-building coverage. Mobile network investment of $667 million in 1H16
Staying on 4G when you receive a call is particularly useful when setting up a mobile hotspot to tether devices by Wi-Fi. This stops your VPN dropping out and maintains 4g speeds. Also if you are streaming a movie via a screen share the movie does not stop for the family if you receive a call.
VoLTE will also work over planned 5G technologies when it is eventually rolled out.
What are the benefits for the network?

    • Provides Voice over LTE network removing need for 3G coverage
    • Provides a more efficient use of spectrum than traditional voice;
    • Meets the rising demand for richer, more reliable services;
    • Eliminates the need to have voice on one network and data on another;
    • Can be deployed in parallel with video calls over LTE and RCS multimedia services, including video share, multimedia messaging, chat and file transfer;
    • Ensures that video services are fully interoperable across the operator community, just as voice services are, as demand for video calls grows;
    • once VoLTE-capable device penetration and customer enablement becomes sufficiently widespread, it may become possible to only deploy 4G (without 3G accompanying it) when Telstra extends coverage to new areas, reducing costs and complexity.

    Telstra VoWiFi FAQ

    What is VoWiFi?

VoWiFi Calling (also known as 'WiFi Calling') lets you make calls over the internet

    • With your mobile number;
    • Using the native dialler;
    • Without the need for a mobile signal
      – (e.g. in a remote location or in a property with thick walls);
    • With great security, as it still uses SIM based authentication.
      – Encryption between the handset and Network.
      – Certificate-Based and SIM Authentication

    Telstra Exchange blog post:

    Forum discussion:

    Handsets

    .
How do I turn it on?

Turn on as per VoLTE activation wiki.
    .
It takes 4 hours for the Network to be provisioned.
Can VoWiFi calls hand off between the mobile network and Wi-Fi?

VoWiFi provides call continuity between VoLTE. If you are talking outside on VoLTE and move indoors, in a corner of your house with no LTE coverage then you seamlessly switch to VoWiFi. When you move outdoors then you switch back to VoLTE. This happens without the you or the other party even knowing.
Does it work with any Australian ISP?

You do not need to have a Telstra Broadband connection. As long as the internet connection is stable and the Wi-Fi signal is good, it should work. It should also work with:

    • Wi-Fi via a mobile hotspot
    • Wi-Fi via a fixed wireless service
    • Wi-Fi via a home router with a 4G dongle
    • Telstra Air Wi-Fi hotspot

It can even work over a satellite connection. However if you do a double hop by calling another satellite user the voice quality can become very poor. However, real humans making a call report back that double hop is acceptable.
A minimum of 1Mbps should be enough to get a call through. “Telstra Wi-Fi Maximiser” on iPhone and Android lets you know if you Wi-Fi has issues or you have issues with speed or latency.
Can I use VoWiFi while overseas?

    No.
    Does VoWiFi cost extra?

There are no costs for enabling or using VoWiFi. The call itself is still billed by Telstra in exactly the same manner as regular 3G voice calls.
If you have a Telstra home internet or Telstra mobile internet connection, the data consumed by Telstra VoWiFi calling is unmetered. However, if you have a Telstra business data plan (e.g. BizEssentials) the data is metered.
All other ISPs will count VoWiFi call data no differently to any other internet data, just like Skype or FaceTime calls.
How much data will a VoWiFi call use?

Voice calls typically use about 1 MB/minute.
Video calls typically use about 6-8 MB/minute.
Can my phone send SMS/MMS messages over Wi-Fi?

No, currently sending SMS/MMS over Wi-Fi is not possible. Your handset will still however try to SMS/MMS over weak mobile coverage while voice calls use WiFi.
iMessage (on iOS) and RCS (on supported Android handsets) does work over WiFi
    Can I turn it off?

    Android:
Phone app > select More > tap Settings > and un-tick the WiFi Calling option.
    iOS:
    Tap Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi calling
What happens if I drop in/out of a VoWiFi area?

    3G to VoWiFi:
Not supported. The call will remain on 3G.
    VoLTE to VoWiFi:
Voice calls will be carried seamlessly across from VoLTE to VoWiFi without any interruptions or drop-outs.
    VoWiFi to VoLTE:
Voice calls will be carried seamlessly across from VoWiFi to VoLTE without any interruptions or drop-outs. Once on VoLTE, the call can then in turn drop from LTE to 3G.
    VoWiFi to 3G:
Not supported. If you do not have LTE coverage or you do not have VoLTE enabled, the call will drop.
    Does VoWiFi support Emergency 000?

Yes, E000 support has been extended to VoWiFi.
How can I tell if a call is using Wi-Fi Calling?

Android: VoWiFi Calling provides different indicators to show that it is operational. The phone's notification bar will show the VoWiFi Calling icon when connected and the service is ready to use.
iOS: The carrier as shown in the top left corner of your display will change from 'Telstra' to 'Telstra Wi-Fi Calling'.
Does it work while in Airplane Mode?

Yes, Wi-Fi Calling is available in Airplane Mode, however you need to turn Wi-Fi back on after enabling Airplane Mode.
    Troubleshooting VoWiFi

    • Is everything up-to-date:
VoWiFi is quite new. So its very important to ensure your phone is running the latest software. If you experience any issues then update your phone to the latest firmware. Does your phone even support wifi calling? (eg. iPhone 5 does not).
    • Is everything enabled:
You need VoLTE for this to work. So check VoLTE is working by making a call on 4G/LTE and checking it ensuring the phone stays on 4G/LTE. If you don't have VoLTE then you need to get this sorted first. If VoLTE works but you still can't enable wifi calling, check for a carrier settings update.
    • Samsung devices:
Does your Samsung have VoWiFi Software?
    • Isolate router issues:
Grab another phone and enable the WiFi hotspot (You might need to go for a drive, walk up the hill, or walk outside). On VoWifi Phone, force VoWiFi by enabling Airplane mode. Connect your VoWiFi phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot. Get this working and you know your handset is fine.
    • Signal strength:
WiFi Calling checks for an adequate Wi-Fi signal strength before initiating the automatic connection to Wi-Fi Calling. Move to an area where the signal strength is stronger.
    • Public Wi-Fi may not work:
For Public Wi-Fi networks, the provider may have policies in place that prevent the Wi-Fi Calling service from connecting. If the Wi-Fi network has a captive portal, you may have to launch your browser and sign-on (providing username / password) to the network depending on the Wi-Fi provider's policy.
    • Poor quality audio:
Wi-Fi calling requires a strong and reliable Wi-Fi connection for the best possible call quality. If you are experiencing poor or inconsistent call quality, ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal. If necessary, move to a location closer to the router with better signal. The number of users and activity (e.g. streaming video) on a network can affect call quality. A network with many users, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot, house with teenagers may cause call quality issues even if the network signal is strong.

Can I use this to extend coverage in regional/remote areas?

Absolutely! If you already have a fixed internet connection (e.g. NBN wireless or satellite) this of course allows you to make calls wherever your Wi-Fi signal can reach. This is very useful for people that are remote. Telstra see lots of traffic out of places like Christmas Island and outback mining camps.
If you have access to Telstra mobile data coverage you could take particular advantage, given that VoWiFi data is unmetered on all Telstra mobile data plans. You could, for example, get a low cost SIM share plan ($5/month) added to your existing mobile or a separate long life plan to create a mobile hot spot from a location with coverage. Perhaps you can get a signal in your attic, or atop a nearby hill; extend that with Wi-Fi to your home, car or shed.
As modern handset may not have an external antenna connection for Car mounting. Set up WiFi hotpot within your car/truck/bus/train/caravan/boat to use while travelling. This can also be utilized by your passengers. You just need a Wi-Fi hotspot unit with the external antenna and everyone can use their existing VoWifi handset to make calls.
    (Some ideas)

What does my router need to support?

If you are using a Telstra Gateway or modem that is less than 4 years old it will be compatible with Wi-Fi Calling. If your modem is from another Internet Service Provider (ISP), you’ve purchased yourself or over 4 years old from Telstra, the modem/router might be compatible. For your modem to support Wi-Fi Calling it will need to have:
    Need to have:

    • IPsec pass-through
    • Certificate Fragmentation

    Nice to have:

    • Resolves to Telstra DNS preferred (keeps media local)
    • Supports 802.11ac

    Tech info:

    Telstra Video on LTE

    Launch date: 30 October 2016

What is ViLTE (Video on LTE)?

Video Calling lets you call other people and chat with them through a video connection as long as both of you have the Video Calling feature on your smartphones.
How long do I need to wait for ViLTE?

If you have VoLTE then with the correct handset and firmware ViLTE is available
    Where is ViLTE available?

VoLTE is available in all Telstra 4G and 4GX coverage areas. When a 4G signal is unavailable, voice calls will automatically switch to the 3G network.
4G-only small cell areas were updated to allow VoLTE on the 14 Dec 2016.
What will happen if I drop out of a 4G area?

Video calls will be carried across from LTE to 3G by changing to Voice only.
Will ViLTE calls cost more than 3G voice calls?

There's no extra charge to use Video Calling. They are charged as per a VoLTE call. But it does use your data allowance.
    Does ViLTE cost extra?

Yes. Like other Video services, the data is chargeable. It consumes around 3-5 Meg per minute. If you go over your plans Data Allowance the excess data will be charged as per your current plan.
Is there any change to the way I make or receive calls on my phone using ViLTE?

Yes, this can be turned on on the phone or per call.
Can I video call people that are not with Telstra?

No, but Telstra Video Calling uses an industry standard that all wireless companies are working on. As more and more companies incorporate it into their networks, we'll be able to connect our Video Calling service to theirs, allowing you to make video calls with friends and family who aren't with Telstra.
Can I use Telstra Video Calling to connect with someone on Skype?

Although there's no reason that you can't have the Telstra Video Calling feature on your phone alongside other video chat apps, such as Skype and Google Hangouts, it's not able to complete a call with other calling apps at this time.
Can I use Telstra Video Calling to connect with someone on 3G video?

No. Circuit switched Video is not compatible with ViLTE.
Does Telstra Video Calling allow group video chatting?

Not yet, but Video Calling with more than two people will be possible in a future release.
    What about international roaming?

There are currently no ViLTE roaming agreements with international carriers. Your device will automatically switch to the local 3G network if you’re making calls while overseas

    How To Enable

Is currently available on Telstra Consumer Customers. You request network access on your handset. You don't need to call or come into Telstra to get working.
Business and Prepaid are to follow.
To activate need postpaid mobile plan, Telstra Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), Telstra My Account and a compatible iPhone.
Set you iPhone up on the latest software and enable features

    1. Update to the latest iOS iPhone
    2. Ensure you have the latest carrier profile
      • Tap Settings > General > About
      • If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

    3. Turn on VoLTE
      • Tap Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Options > Enable 4G > Voice & Data
      • It will normally be activated within about 4 hours.

    4. Turn on VoWifi
      • Tap Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling
      • Don't enable VoWifi without also enabling VoLTE, else you may experience some dropped calls.

    5. Turn on Calls from other devices. (Optional)
This will let you take calls on Apple devices like iPADs on the same wifi network. So if you have your phone on the charger downstairs, you can answer a call on the iPad in your Bedroom.
      • Tap Settings > Phone > Calls on other devices
Turn it on and enable the devices you want to ring.

Make sure you know your Telstra Digital Identity
To prove you are the owner of the account you need know your Telstra Digital identity.
For Consumer, it's your MyAccount username and password.
Confirm you know your Telstra My Account by logging in here.

If you have forgotten your username or password. No problem there are reset links to fix that for you.
If you don't have Telstra My Account just register.

Make sure you know your Apple Identity

    Please Note.
    The link below says Cellular.
If your phone is set to Australia it will use the term Mobile.

You will be requested for your Telstra My Account if you choose to set up mobile calling.
    Remove Plan from my service

Depairing does not remove your Telstra One Number subscription. You need to go into the Telstra 24*7 App and delete the subscription.
    Charges

Charges are against your primary account. That is the phone you have paired the watch to.
    International Roaming.

Telstra One Number does not currently work overseas. The watch will still work fine over Bluetooth and WiFi if the phone is in range.
    Incoming call behavior

If your Mobile device number is rung you can answer the call on either device.
You can also ring your mobile from your watch by just dialing yourself. (or vice-versa)
    Outgoing call behavior

You can make outgoing calls on either device and at the same time. Both devices can have outgoing calls at the same time.
    Messaging behavior

To save battery the device does not have native SMS/MMS capability. All its messaging is via iMessage. Please ensure you have imessage enabled on your mobile phone. Also, your mobile phone needs to be turned on "somewhere in the world" to proxy SMS/MMS to the watch.
    So enable iMessage
To receive SMS, MMS, or push notifications from third-party apps on your Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), your paired iPhone must be powered on and connected to Wi-Fi or cellular, but it doesn't need to be nearby.
If you're on Wi-Fi and want to call a phone number, make sure that Wi-Fi calling is turned on for your Apple Watch. Otherwise, try making a FaceTime audio call.
    Limitations

    - The current Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular does not support the LTE 700MHz (Band 28)
    - VoWifi to VoLTE handover
    - SRVCC

    VoWifi Pixel 2

    Background

The default setting is LTE preferred. Ideally, this should automatically and seamlessly move to VoWifi.
The PIXEL 2 QUALCOMM chipset uses RSRQ measurements to determine when it should move to VoWIFI. This threshold is configurable by OTA updates.
Ideally, in my opinion, it should be about -115 => -120dbm RSRP to allow for a call handover. It is currently not optimised to this range and stays on LTE for longer than I would expect.
So the current setting will not suit most customers ( In my opinion) as it will only move to VoWifi if there is NO LTE signal.
The poor workaround is to set to Wifi preferred.. This will mean it will use Wi-fi even in very good LTE signal. This may suit some.
    Load USB drivers.

    (Make separate Wiki)
    Install adb.

    (Make separate Wiki)
    On your phone.

Settings/System/About phone/Build Number. tap 7 times to enable Developer

    Change to Wifi preferred

    1. Run adb
    2. adb devices (Should see your device)
    3. adb shell. (Open adb shell)
    4. settings put global wfc_ims_mode 2
    5. On Handsets confirm the change.

    Telstra VoLTE evolution

As Telstra now has a common core it means that it can offer the video experience across both fixed and mobile devices. Telstra can also then make that experience seamless to the customer.
Telstra has also announced it can then also bring in rich communication (RCS) across its mobile and fixed devices to allow customers to start with a simple message, move to a chat and then up to a HD conference between parties.

The above becomes all the more important when you look at the coverage map where 4Gx only areas are.

4G is great until you get a text message EVERY time you pass through a town that tells you that "You are in a 4G small cell area"! It's bloody annoying especially if you have to travel through that area several times a day. I'm over it!
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

You should be able to turn those message alert off or opt out or something as neither me or my wife get those messages.

I have yet to work out how. there is no "opt out on the message" and I can't find a number to block. Admittedly I haven't spent a lot of time on it, my time is more valuable than that.

I've given a thank you to you Tiny, but I thought I would also say thank you via a post for your post regarding the VoLTE. While I'm a member of Whirlpool, I don't get the time to read everything over there. My Telstra Iphone didn't have VoLTE switched on so I followed these directions and now have it. My wife's Samsung had it switched on already. Thanks buddy.

I actually stumbled upon the info while researching something else, thought it was important so posted it up.
It's surprising how many assume that a 4G phone uses 4G for voice calls by default, when in fact they don't.

Tiny, until I read your posting I thought 4G was a progression from 3G, ie an upmarket, better quality signal all around and not understanding it was primarily for DATA and not voice.
I have never been into using DATA until now and still getting used to doing so but I have no idea if its 2G, 3G, 4G or Knobbly Knees and I would bet I am not alone as to what 'Format' ? is being used to run a video whatever from YouTube on the phone.
I am presuming that video and other 'graphics' based material is the Data that uses 4G ?

2 Bob to a dollar most would say "I have 4G" only because its on the box and the salesman told them so..............
I see however posting and reports are claiming this "VoLTE" service has been 'switched' on OZ wide and should be available to all a 4G compatible phone.
I am presuming my Samsung J1 is but is there any way of checking beyond watching the 4G symbol being displayed?

from my understanding, VoLTE is available on recent models of phones & won't be back dated, so you need to check the available list that Telstra provides.
I've tried to find a source for an updated list, however so far the list I got from the Whirlpool post in my post #1 is the best I've seen.
Other than that, contact Telstra & ask them direct.
I won't bother as I know my old Samsung s3 with 4G is not on that list.

I expect that it's not just a simple software update to give the capability, more likely hardware related? Processor capacity is my guess.

So you need a VoLTE capable Telstra phone, which maybe labelled as 4G Voice calls=yes in the description.
Anything that just says 4G or 4GX capable is not there yet & as expected they don't want to tell you yet that they're selling you a soon to be outdated phone, otherwise they'd have to dump them.

yes gordon most of the latest phones are 4GX capable, however 4GX is still a data package that needs VoLTE (HD calling) to make voice calls.
Your phone, the Galaxy J1 is on the list below as a compatible device, so I would suggest that it has HD calls enabled.
According to the instructions for enabling on a compatible non-Apple phones is to make sure it has latest updated software..
What we don't know for sure is whether it is available on Aldi/Medion or other resellers of the Telstra network??

How do I enable HD Calling on my mobile phone?
    For non-Apple compatible mobile phones:
Ensure your phone’s operating system is up to date.

For compatible Apple (iPhone) mobile phones:

    1. Ensure your operating system is updated to the latest iOS version.
    2. Ensure you have the latest Telstra carrier profile:
      • Tap: Settings > General > About
      • If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings. Please click here for about updating your carrier settings.

    1. Ensure VoLTE is turned on:
      • Tap: Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Options > Enable 4G > Voice & Data

    2. HD Calling will be activated on your handset normally within 4 hours of completion of steps 1 to 3 set out above.

All the phones here are 4GX & most of them being in the top price bracket will have VoLTE capability (HD calling), unfortunately they don't tell you directly in the description.
Notice in the blurb below they are talking data speeds, not voice calls.
    What is 4GX?
When analogue television was switched off in Australia, the spectrum it was running on – 700MHz – became available. We took up twice as much of this superior spectrum as any other carrier to deliver you 4GX.
Better in the bush – 4GX uses superior 700MHz spectrum that can go further than previous 4G frequencies, creating extra 4G coverage in rural and regional areas.
More for metro – 4GX offers extra 4G in-building coverage and faster 4G in-building speeds compared to our regular 4G, bringing speedy web access when you use a compatible device in a 4GX area.
We’ve used sophisticated LTE-Advanced technology to bring together our multiple 4G spectrum bands and this means faster speeds for category 6 and higher devices when you’re in a 4GX area.

4GX doubles our 4G bandwidth so you can use more devices and do more of the things you love at the same time.
Download, stream and share with fewer slowdowns even in crowded places.

You can see in the below pic that they don't show VoLTE (HD calling) as an option of capability on their filtering??
All they talk about in features is data & processor speeds & how good the camera is. lol

    Telstra VoLTE capable phones
    Compatible devices

If you have one of these devices with up-to-date software, you’ll be among many now experiencing the benefits of HD Calling. Please note: if you have Call Select, Call Manager and/or Mobile VPN on your service, your service will not be migrated to HD Calling.
And, more and more devices will support HD Calling as it becomes adopted as the new standard.

Just a heads up, at Telstra we have to enable it on your account. Believe by default it's enabled. When we have people with phone receptions issue we either disable it or enable it, it generally improves the situation.

Unless for some technical reasons, I would have thought it (4GX) would be enabled as a matter of course as there must be others like me who hear all the Gobbly-Gook about how great each 'G' is and in reality neither know or need to know the How's, Whats and Why's so long as the damned thing works.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
