Default How do I Load an ISO image?

    G'day everyone,

Has been a while since I retired and seem to have forgotten a few things when I cleared the work stuff out of my memory bank. I have an ISO image of win 7 pro and want to load it on a drive in a refurb machine but I cannot for the life of me remember how to do that.

Would really appreciate some help if anyone knows the solution.

    Frank

To burn it to a DVD is easy, generally all you need do is open your favourite Disk burning program and burn it to disk.

There are a few more steps if you want to install from a USB stick. Download the media creation tool from M$ (freebie) and use that to create a USB stick. (It might also work for a disk bu can't recall)
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Apparently Windows 8, 8.1 & 10 have a utility built in, but you can download it free for XP, Vista & 7 as well, it's called "Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel" and can be downloaded here:

There are also a host of other free programs out there that will mount virtual drives from ISO files, google is your friend, just search for something like "ISO mounting software" or similar.

Lots of options available and the ones I use most are Daemon Tools to open an ISO as a virtual drive, Rufus to make a bootable USB flash drive from an ISO

and if you delete the ei.cfg file, you have a universal install CD or USB drive. Lets you choose which version of Win7 as long as you have a legit product key for that version.
