Sounds like a dirty or faulty laser.

Dust on player lasers in vehicles is very common.

If you use a DVD lens cleaning disc, put a drop of alcohol on that tiny brush just before inserting it.

So far the information you have provided is extremely scant and totally insufficient.

    Please enlighten us further.

Depending on the make /model of your car, it may be cheaper to buy another car than try to access the DVD player if its faulty.
My Son had a BA Ford (2nd hand) that either the stacker didnt work or it was a single that refused to eject.
There were a couple of other problems with the AC controls too but to remove the Dash which was mandatory to get to anything he was quoted some $800......
The DVD and cassette player both went to radio heaven several years ago in my now 18 year old AU Ford Fortura but even though they are a single modular easy to remove unit, I havent bothered.
I had neighbour who had gone through 3 DVD players in the SUV bought new, they didnt seem to like any rough roads which was unfortunate as they have a 2 miles long Off Road driveway....
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

again, Thanks for the info everyone,

I was really only looking for service data if available for this basic player, (I now have parts on the way.)

I do apologise as I mentioned car, however it is out of a bus, and only 4-5 years old,

but getting service data out of the states is not easy.

    cheers for your help

also FYI, I am an Electrical techie and I do component level repairs on tv's, computers, the odd printer, and anything else electrical requiring repairs as well as satellite systems.

    sparks01,

Apart from just an interesting topic, explaining what the problem is, what your fault finding discovered and the fix.... it helps others who may experience the same or similar issue.

    Agreed.

The OP is evading the questions raised, which helps nobody.
