Firstly, having limited knowledge of HDMI cables I was unaware they are DIRECTIONAL so I DIDNT enlarge the pictures to see the 'Writing on the Wall') Plugs son my monitor, I saw but couldnt read the inscription.
Being such a major installation it made me wonder if the new cable came premade with preattached plugs or instead as many do their own, attach their own as you do with the CAT series.
When your not in the Trade or have any one to ask about such matters, its easy to make a mistake as I did thinking it may have been user fitted connections.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

Most HDMI cables are bi-directional.
The ones the OP is using with an inline processor/booster are directional.
HDMI connectors are complex, with 19 wires.
Yes, there are cables and connectors available separately, but the exacting terminations required make them extremely difficult to fit and meet operating standards, which is why you will almost always see factory-made HDMI cables.
Like everyone and their dog I have bought and used HDMI no longer than 2 metres and just plugged them in as they work both ways just like the RCA cables they have replaced (only with more complications it seems!!!)
With 19 wires, I dont think 'complex' is quite adequate a description to me?
PLEASE DONT ANSWER but what the hell do they find that they need 19 wires to send it along ???

Have you never said rhetorically, 'Why' or 'How' etc in a matter that an explanation will serve no purpose?
Thank you for the links tristen but I wont be reading them as I have neither the Want or Need to know.

Well no, Gordon. I have always had a very large innate curiosity, which was actively encouraged by my parents and teachers.
I can vividly remember my mother telling me that 'knowledge is power' and that there is much enjoyment and fulfillment to be gained by thinking and acquiring knowledge, regardless of whether we consider it not necessary at the time.
Ah, come on Gordon....the mental exercise involved in thinking in the pursuit of knowledge is good for the brain.Thank you for the links tristen but I wont be reading them as I have neither the Want or Need to know.
The brain is like a muscle. If it's not exercised it atrophies.

I know one muscle I exercise regularly, it will most certainly will not atrophy, thank you very much Diana!
