    I think its awesome!
    Won't be long and some normal chap will be fitting a electric motor in an 80 series and making one hell of a play truck.

    Then again, and LS3 would be cheaper and 100 times more fun

    Electric propulsion is used on mining equipment both above and underground but they appear from the shows I have seen to be connected by cable to the supply.
    Excluding that, it proves electric propulsion can be used in some very adverse conditions.
    I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

    Electric Motors and Batteries are nothing new in mining
    AC Dump Trucks have been around for 40+ years in mining
    Battery and Electric Dump Trucks for the passed 20 years
    Regenerative braking around the same time

    The electric dump trucks are powered by an onboard diesel, some have a trolley bus type assistance to power them up the ramps.

    None are battery powered yet..
